So I wanted to add some flare to my powder and decided to go a bit rustic with my project. I noticed a lot of shelves were very small in width. This is why I really liked this one. It’s nice and wide and I absolutely loved the chestnut color. Upon opening the box wi was relieved to see the shelves and the brackets were nice and sturdy! I couldn’t wait for my husband to install them! Because I didn’t install them I can’t really say how easy it truly was however my husband was in and out in about 20 minutes and that’s only because he wanted to measure it and angle it the way I wanted. I know it's not what these shelves are probably intended for, but we use them as cat shelves in our cat room, since the product description showed that these were very sturdy. We used better wall-anchors than were provided to support the extra weight and cats jumping. We added carpet to the top of the shelves with 3M double stick tape. So I was looking for a cheap shelf to attach a reading light to, and I expected to get some kind of ledge thing that I couldn't put any real weight on in the price range I was looking for. Then I found this shelf, which had a picture with actual books on it and promised it could hold 20kg of books. Well I weighed my textbooks, pictured here, and they were about 9kg, and I WAS SO EXCITED. A shelf wide enough to attach my reading light to, that I could also PUT BOOKS ON? for $15?? crazy, right? so the hardware: it comes with an extra one of each of the types of screws/anchors, which is so thoughtful. Also it comes with anchors. Like, they assume you're going to have to deal with drywall and just give you anchors. I don't know how many times I've bought like IKEA shelves and the instructions are like "use hardware appropriate to your walls" and then you have to go buy a pack of anchor screws at the hardware store for nearly as much as the cheap shelf--but no, this just had them! they are there for you. (you do have to come up with your own drill though. fortunately I already had that.) sweet. perfect. i love it. ... show more

Purchased two boxes (sets of three) to use in my livingroom. I am super frustrated sice they both came in DIFFERENT COLORS. not just slightly different, but substantially different. I had expected them to be the color of the ones on the left. The quality is nice. The wood itself is lovely and the anchors seem to be fine. I just wish they were the same color! Not quite sure how we will use them as our original plan involved them being directly next to one another... Haven't had reply from the company yet... Will update if they reply to let you know what they do/what they say. UPDATE: Contacted Amazon. The customer service was great! They offered to send a third box, then after I had a chance to match colors, send the extra set of shelves back. I accepted and then changed my mind. We decided on a different set up that has the two sets spit apart so the color difference doesn't matter. ... show more

    • Good value but wear gloves when installing

I purchased two packages (a total of six shelves) for a small office. These are small shelves and the mounting brackets can sort of be visually overwhelming, but that's sort of the effect you are going for with these. The screws are not machined very well and several had little slivers of metal still attached which caused me to get multiple metal splinters before I realized what was happening. Therefore, I highly recommend wearing work gloves when handling the screws. I also used heavy-duty molly bolts (self-drilling) versus the ones included, so I could place more weight on the shelves, as I was drilling them into drywall without studs. Overall these are a good value, but there are 12 screws per shelf... so a set of 3 shelves has 36 screws. A slow-moving powered screwdriver will save your thumbs and wrists a little. Just be sure to hand-tighten so you don't shread the soft wood. ... show more

These shelves were originally meant for my dining room, to put a succulent or two on. We ended up moving very shortly after i got them and had to take them down again, originally putting the brackets on was easy peasy, but then when we moved every piece of shelf that touched the wall took paint off with it. We aren't sure if they were screwed too tight, maybe they got wet between, or what but just FYI, be prepared for wall repair if you take them down. We put them one in the bathroom at our new house, and it looks nice like it did before we just know we might need to paint if we take it down. We didn't screw it as tight to the wall this time but i don't know! ... show more

I bought 3 sets of these shelves a few days ago. At this point I've hung up 3 so far. Let me tell you, the instructions dont give much instructing. I did not know what size drill bit I needed to install the anchors so first I used a small drill bit that I had to hammer the anchors in and flattened the anchors. (Cheap anchors) Then I used a drill bit that was way too big that the anchors got pushed far in the wall and didn't secure the shelf properly. And it wasnt level. The next day I went to the home improvement store and bought a pack of anchors and screws that came with a drill bit. Got home and unscrewed 4 of the screws and pulled out my shoulder getting the two anchors that got lost in the wall. I managed to somewhat cover the holes and did it over. It was a pain in my rear and not easy to hang up. Only one of the three shelves I've hung up was a breeze. Good luck friends and buy your own anchor screw packs that includes a drill bit. ... show more
