  • Very good boards for pyrography
Number of Items: 45
I really like this product. The boards are uniform and smooth ( to do pyrography you still need to do a final sanding). There is always a good side. They don't have a lot of grain and are reasonably thin but not too thin. None of them are warped and they are clean cut on all sides. I use them for pyrography and for laser engraving. They hold up well to both uses. There are a few areas on a few boards with darker spots and on some boards they are round patches that repaired areas in the old- but again this is only on one side. I know it seems expensive but it is only $1.50 a board and once you buy it it takes a long time to go through 45 boards. ... show more

  • quality is hit or miss

Quality seems to have improved this year. I still occasionally get a box of unusable wood, but returns are free with Prime so I think it’s worth purchasing and exchanging if you get damaged product. The good batches I’ve received are great for the price.

  • Work great for laser engraving
Number of Items: 45
So far so good. I've only used a few sheets from the box so far, but they have all been reasonably straight and in good condition. There is definitely a "good side" to these sheets, and the back may have plugs or blemishes so don't expect to use them for two sided projects unless you plan to paint. I am using them for laser engraving with a Chinese K-40 laser and they work great. The K-40 can slice through them pretty easily, and the engravings come out pretty good. The only thing I question a little is that there is no bag inside. They are just stacked in the box. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. I kind of expected them to be in a sealed bag to keep the moisture content consistent. I suspect that if you were to leave them out, the top sheet might start to warp as it dries unevenly. I have been keeping them in the box with the box closed and so far the have been ok, but as I use more, I may end up putting them in a bag just to reduce the chances of them drying uneven. ... show more

  • Great wood

I bought the 100 pack 2 times now for laser engraving. 1st pack all was perfect. 2ed pack was a little warped and had some marks but was not end of the world. Cleaned up easy and used hold downs.

  • One side may have ink stamps
Number of Items: 16
Natural wood varies in appearance and this plywood package has above average quality. What I have a problem with is that about half the sheets have a blue ink stamp on the "back" side. This may turn out to be a big waste of wood. I'm guessing most of the buyers of this product do not want a big blue ink stamp to have to try and sand out. These sheets are not always flat. They may curve. There are voids between layers and this can cause problems when laser cutting. I have no idea if the glue is laser safe or non toxic when burnt. One day shipping failed. ... show more

  • If you have a K40 laser buy this now, You will LOVE it. I keep a box on hand at all times. Less than $1 a sheet!
Number of Items: 45
If you have a K40 or other blue box Chinese laser cutter then you will LOVE this plywood. The sheet fits inside the K40 and just under the exhaust vent without any modification to the laser cutter and without any cutting of the plywood. With CorelLaser you can engrave and cut at the same time. With this plywood and a stock K40 run engrave on about 10mA at 9mm/s. For cutting run about 15-20ma at 3mm/s for two passes. Works like a charm! ***If you are running an upgraded K40 with an 18mm lens and air assist your settings will be different*** I have used this for pen boxes, Christmas ornaments, wood business cards, and MANY others. Worth every penny. It works out to less than $1 a sheet! I made small item storage bins like you would get from Harbor Freight. Mine cost .50 a piece for small ones and $1 for big ones. Then I made cabinet (out of MDF) to hold them. I LOVE this plywood. Buy it now. You will not regret it. {This is NOT a reimbursed/ compensated/ reduced cost review of any kind in any way} ... show more

  • Update - Sad to see the lower quality of product Woodpecker is shipping
Number of Items: 45
I've purchased from Woodpecker Wood 3 or 4 times, 12x12 45ct Baltic Birch 3mm (1/8") ply. Before this last box the quality has been very good. However, this package is really disappointing. I wonder if they changed their supplier. Nevertheless, I am getting poor cuts. In those areas I am having to re-cut 2 to 6 times which yields poor quality results, or I have to increase the power from 25% to 90% and still at times have to make multiple re-cuts Again the high multiple cuts again result in worse looking cut as well as horrible soot - even with high air pressure (30 psi) and masking with a verified 60w laser. The problem cutting is aggravating but more so is the time to re-cut or use a cutting device to follow the incomplete laser cut. This is a production killer, and very aggravating. This new box has much more warped wood than the previous boxes purchased and there is slight separation on some of the layers - not common but it is still there. The wood is in a very low humidity environment and the same environment as the previous boxes. I going to try and find another vendor, here on Amazon or other locations. 4/5/22 - Final 18 sheets. I have been printing names 11x5" 2 up per sheet. In all cuts NOT ONE sheet has come out with a full cut. Some cuts I can use an x-acto knife and others I had to over cut (second cut). To get the full cut I had to up the power from 25% (60W laser tube) to 85%. 4 of the cuts took 3 times to finish off the cut. Other cuts it took 2 cuts at the almost full power setting. Some of the non cut areas the laser looked like it was hitting metal, huge white sparking. It appears that there is some kind of material in the middle layer. In the past I have enjoyed wood from Woodpecker, but not any longer. Too much $$$$ for this aggravation and wood cost. The hours to re-cut or carve the problem areas kill any profit available. Got 45 sheets of wood from a supplier on etsy a few bucks less expensive. So far 25 sheets not one miss cut. ... show more
