They have little compression but not enough to sacrifice comfort. They are very stretchy and the fit seems to be true to size. These have a nice pocket for a cellphone that zips so it’s harder to lose your phone and another that has a flap on the top. They sit a little high on the waist and somehow even with the fleece lining they are more revealing than I would like for outerwear. The fleece inner layer really helps these feel soft and provide a good layer of warmth for the coming cooler weather. I was in between sizes on their chart and chose to order up (too big is always better than too small!). It was a perfect fit. These are so comfortable! The fleece liner is warm without being moisture-trapping and there's just the right amount of stretch. I'm short and everything is long on me, so the length in the picture here is only representative of my height, not the pants. There are two small pockets: one on the right side that is just open and a small one that zips on the left. The one on the left is awkward and goes towards the back of your leg, not the front. It's still summer, so I haven't tested the water resistant claim yet, but from the feel I believe it will offer mild to moderate water resistance in the rain. (I live in the pacific northwest and spend about an hour outside every day rain or shine, so I'm pretty confident in my assessment.) ... show more

Okay, these are yoga pants. I don't do yoga, but I saw great pants that would keep me warm while shoveling in the snow. Pants that would keep me warm on bitter cold, drafty days. I tried these pants on upon receipt, then washed them. The washed up nicely, retaining their original size - no shrinkage. While it’s close to 100 degrees F, I’m currently not able to review the warmth factor. If these were underwear and not outerwear, they might be okay, but as thermal pants, these leave a little to be desired. They have a fleece underside, but it isn't a separate lining; the fabric is just fleeced inside. The material is pretty thin for thermal pants. I would call these fleeced leggings, not thermal pants. As someone who received and tried these on in the heat of summer, I didn't find them to be particularly warm, which was a disappointment. I was expecting to quickly become overheated while wearing them indoors, and I wasn't at all uncomfortably warm in them. As for general comfort of wear, the seams are very scratchy. The thread they used, while durable, is very coarse and stiff, causing the seams to rub irritatingly. The waistband looks like a wide waist but isn't, with a seam at the very top of the waistband that causes it to cut into my waist painfully. Treating the waist like a foldover helped get the pressure off my back, but it of course causes the fabric beneath it to rumple into an unwanted gather, since the waist seam isn't designed for that and is way too tight to be used that way. Since they used a straight stitch for seaming, the seams don't stretch properly to allow for it. ... show more
