The product worked as described. I read the reviews before I ordered and read that the unit has a tendency to discharge vacuum oil . The fix was to purchase a non misting oil so i did. I don't have any issue with misting oil. The unit pulls a 29 inch vacuum quickly and easily and the heavy glass lid and gasket doesn't leak. Before I used it with product in it, I pulled a 29 inch vacuum, turned the pump off and left it overnight. In the morning there was still a 29 inch vacuum. The vacuum pump works great. This is my first vacuum chamber and pump and one thing I could tell is that the materials were excellent. Everything came well packaged. The pump and the chamber themselves seem to be high quality. The instructions were decent? You can tell the instructions are written in China, like they’re trying their best with English but it’s still a little off, and missing some key bits, like adding the correct gasket to the outlet filter and like you know....how to operate it...lol. Also it’s saying to look at the lines on the pump for the oil level, but this one doesn’t have any lines just a min and max mark, but some of their other models do have lines. They’re still slacking a little, but China seems to be stepping up their overall quality. Also they’re online videos are not the best. While the instructions were not the best for a newb to be fair it’s not rocket science. Pour the bottle of oil in the pump, hook up the hose (in case common sense is not your strong suit) Close the outlet, open the inlet, turn the pump on, watch the gauge go all the way to the left in about a minute, close the inlet, then turn off the pump. Open the outlet when you’re done to let the air back in. Simple and it works. No issues for me. I mean it was easy. While things can always be better, what you get for what you pay is actually really good. That’s why I’m giving it 5 stars. Yes I recommend this Vacuum set. ... show more

    • Works great, but way too much oil mist

Works very well and pulls a vacuum fairly quickly. I've only had it for about a week or so, but I'm happy with it. My only complaint is that it puts out a lot of mist... So much so that I thought something was wrong. It filled half my shop in a misty fog in about 3 minutes. Not only was I apprehensive to be in my shop breathing in the fog, I was also wondering if it was sticking to my walls and tools in the area. I didn't notice any residue and was about to return the unit when I saw that people were saying that they drained the pump oil and replaced it with a non misting pump oil. I ordered a bottle of oil and replaced the oil today and I'm happy to report that there is no longer a cloud in my shop when I run the pump. They should ship this thing with non misting oil. It would literally cost them about $5.00 more to do this. Overall I'm happy with the pump and chamber, and would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the oil issues. Do yourself a favor and order the replacement oil when you order the pump so you don't have to wait additional days to use it. ... show more

    • Should have known better

I generally don’t write negative reviews on products, but this one managed to tick all the buttons. Let’s start with the vacuum pump it actually pulls a vacuum sort of HOWEVER it atomizes the oil which then gets shot out of the top of the pump unit we are not talking a small amount we are talking enough to fog a 750sq room, any idea what that oil does to epoxy and how well that works out? Now let’s start with the vacuum chamber the vacuum chamber that does not seal at all. I tried cleaning the gasket I tried cleaning the rim I tried setting 22 lbs of weight on the top to get to seal, I tried making sure the line in was sealed, I even pulled the glass out of the seal and cleaned it and the glass. Nothing I did would actually get the unit to pull a vacuum. This thing failed at every level if nothing else it has that going for it. The title says it all I should have known better. ... show more

Product was well packaged and arrived undamaged. All documentation was present in packaging. Setup was easy requiring only open end wrench to align and tighten gauge/valve package mounting nut on inside of chamber. Glass top and top seal were clean and defect free. Stainless steel tub sealing surface was smooth without dents or scratches. Included hose has tool-free brass connectors w/gasketing. Easy and quick to install/remove. Hose has sufficient length. Liquid filled vacuum gauge was easy to equalize for ambient pressure prior to use with vacuum pump. Equalizing insures proper vacuum chamber readings. Vacuum pump was easy to fill with oil and initial startup was uneventful. Vacuum of 29.5 in.Hg obtained in <3 minutes. Chamber valves were closed, pump shut off and hose disconnected from chamber. Vacuum still at 29.5 in.Hg after 2+ hours. Impressive for a single stage pump. Would recommend to any other customer. ... show more

I replaced my previous vacuum chamber which had a plastic lid. I mostly use the chamber for stabilizing wood, and that destroys the plastic lid. As a bonus, this chamber has the gauge in the body of the chamber so it should be easier to reseal if necessary. The pump is a big step up from my previous pump. It's quite. But faster than the old Zeny I replaced. It also will fit most AC manifold gauge sets (including HF) out of the box. My old unit required an adapter to fit. My only complaint about the unit is the gauge rotates with the hose. But it will hold -30 inHG overnight, so its not leaking. ... show more

The pot is nice, but the vacuum pump is no good. I think mine was a returned or refurb'd pump. It was clean but had nicked paint & wear marks and an oil film all over the vaned pump housing. It smoked a LOT when it ran - with a steady stream coming from the filler cap like an old steam engine. I also did not consistently pull a vacuum, but when it did it could reach gauge limit.
