  • Quality of a luxury stroller
Color: Elixer
I am so happily in love with this stroller so I want to give a detailed review to those out there who are as picky as me. I'm a nanny and I usually have shares with 2 kids. Generally, I could loosely call myself a "stroller snob". I love the BOB, the CityMini and the UppaBaby strollers. With my old share I had a Phil & Ted double stroller, which was awesome. But when I left that job I had to leave the stroller behind 🙁 With my new position, my dream double was a BOB Duallie but I couldn't fathom spending 700$ on a work stroller. I spent all of fall and winter strolling one baby and wearing the other while I stalked exchanges, craigslist, marketplace & flea markers hoping to find a used BOB in good condition for under 300$ Well March came around, the babies got heavier, the weather was getting warmer and I couldn't wait around for a magic 250$ BOB anymore so to Amazon I came. I read every review. I crosschecked. I asked moms and nannies in my community. And I finally settled on the Baby Trend Double Jogger and oh my goodness I'm glad I did. My stroller was delivered about 3 weeks after I had placed the order, which was actually shorter than the time frame I was given so I was pleasantly surprised. Putting together the stroller was simple. The directions had pictures alongside them and the manufacturers gave a couple extra screws just in case i need them. It ended up only taking me about 20 minutes by myself, and I am by no means a handy person. The tires are like bicycle tires! Which is fantastic because I live in a city with lots of cobblestone, bumps and cracked sidewalks. Our ride is so smooth. I can't believe I'm making this comparison but dare I say it's almost as smooth as my beloved 700$ BOB 😮 The seats are comfortable for the kids and the straps have lots of room for adjusting as they get older. The storage space is absolutely great! There are two small storage compartment storage under the stroller, but I actually cut out the middle piece of fabric to make it 1 large room compartment. There is netted storage on the back of each seat, perfect for storage a packed lunch for each of them. And netted storage inside of the stroller next to each seat so accessible to the kids, so I can put a toy and sippy cup in each and they can take out and put back in as they please. There's also a small cubby at the hand bar area that is the perfect size for my phone, keys, credit card & a plastic baggy of Goldfish. There are also 2 cup holders 🙌🏼 I love the hood! It's large and totally adjustable so I have a wide range to move it wherever the sun is facing the kids. It has been so helpful so far. My youngest is pretty light sensitive and this has kept the sun from his eyes no matter which direction were walking or time of day it is. This stroller is actually pretty light. I manage to carry it folded up and down my stairs every walk with no issue. Both folding it and unfolding it is so simple and easy and I can unfold it one handed. It fits easily in the trunk of my SUV, I imagine with a compact car I might have to take the front wheel off. The only part I'm not totally in love with is the brakes. Instead of one bar that I can step on to lock the stroller, there or two clips on either side I need to jiggle down to lock, and one of those time one of the locks actually came undone on a day when the winds were furiously blowing against it. This isn't a dealbreaker for me at all because it's never like I'm going to leave my alone and unsupervised on a super windy day like that, but it was kind of like, okay don't ever leave the stroller unattended lol. So Pro's •Wheels •Hood •Storage Space •Comfortable Seats •Folding/Unfolding •Weight/Size •Smoothness and control •Set Up Cons • Wheel locks are like a 6/10 Overall 170$ for this is insane in the best way. This is a quality stroller for even the pickiest of us. I highly recommend this and don't think you'll be let down. ... show more

  • This is my favorite stroller hands down
This is my favorite stroller hands down! I've owned several strollers with the ones I most recently sold made by Baby Jogger (Performance series double) and Joovy Caboose. The Baby Jogger had a fixed wheel, and turning it required I push the front wheel in the air. This was difficult and frustrating because with two children of differing weights, towards the end of a walk, I was really tired (which can be bad depending on what time of day it is). The Joovy Caboose was a great stroller with the exception of the small wheels that hated uneven pavement. I had to avoid little bumps because the stroller would come to an abrupt hault causing angst in my children. I always felt I had to look far ahead to anticipate which way I'd have to maneuver the wheels to avoid a wild ride. So, I figured I had to find a decently priced double stroller that had big rubber tires and a front wheel that swiveled. It seemed like a very tall order until I saw the Baby Trend Expedition. Amazing. It pushes effortlessly with one hand (with a 40 lb. child on one side and 27 lb. child on the other). The space on the bottom is so generous and can easily fit 4 lightweight bags of groceries. I have always owned no frills strollers but the parent cupholders and center console with lid are really nice and it feels like a luxury item. The canopy is really nice although doesn't come down as low as my old Baby Jogger, it's very adjustable to keep sun out of your children's eyes even if they're differing heights. There is a little window that opens up with a screen on it. There is no plastic window there like on my Baby Jogger. It basically feels like the netting on pack n play walls. The handlebar feels like it's made with bicycle tire rubber. Nice touch! I'm so used to the foam handles that fade and flake off with age. If you've ever had a child that liked to pick on the foam, you're well aware that it's not super durable for the long haul. This handlebar seems like it will outlast all the others I've owned. Putting the stroller together was a little frustrating. Have an adjustable wrench and crosspoint screwdriver handy. My husband wasn't available so I did it myself which felt rewarding but I could have used his muscles. Our children LOVE walks so they were ready to go as soon as I was done assembling! It fit nicely through our front door and it rides sooooo smoothly. Uneven pavement, stones, grass...you name it; it drove over it all without hesitation. I'm comparing this with the older model Baby Jogger, Joovy Caboose, Jeep stroller, various umbrella strollers and a Maclaren double--all the strollers I've ever owned. I decided to purchase some 100% cotton liners since the seat fabric isn't very breathable. With toddlers, I don't want to wipe down seats all the time. It's easier just to throw a removable liner in the washer when necessary. I bought "Sleeping Lamb" brand reversible baby seat covers. I also installed "DorDor & GorGor" brand organic baby seatbelt cushions since the nylon straps can be a little rough on a sleeping baby. I'm thrilled beyond belief. 😍 If I could dance down the street without the neighbors looking at me strangely, I would. Walking with a double stroller has become more of a pleasure again. This stroller was a game changer AND it wasn't overpriced. So perfect! ... show more

I use this stroller daily for a 2.5 year old and 14m old. It is spacious for both. It is an extremely smooth ride and can easily be pushed and navigated one handed. It’s very easy to fold for traveling and is quite light. I love the sun cover for the kids, while small, it can be moved forwards or backwards to help alleviate sun glare on the kids. There is ample storage space under the stroller and I love that there are 2 water bottle holders and storage space for the adult pushing. I did purchase water holders for the kids to give them more room on walks and ensure the bottles don’t get thrown overboard. The only thing I was surprised and disappointed about was the design of how the seats incline and decline, they do so through pull clips and don’t provide the greatest support. I imagine in time, these will start to wear down and the kids won’t get very much support. ... show more
