I recently joined a posh gym w/a real lap pool. Renovated Gold’s has latest workout gizmos, pool has all bells & whistles. However, psychedelic neon lighting makes the indoor pool visible all over gym. My it’s bitty, teeny weeny, string bikini collection would simply not be appropriate with the whole world watching. Hey, I’m swimming laps here. Suit fits perfectly (6;) love non-intrusive built in bra; adore zipper. Will order from Axesea again. It’s the side striping styles, patterned or not, that slim all body shapes. I’m in “no buy” zone next 30 days. So I can browse, but not purchase. That’s my budget management system. Works for me. That this suit has spf protection completely escaped me. When left coast summer appears, (hard to predict w/climate change) it’s a must style suit 4 local beach vacays. ... show more

    • Great suit - but not for everyone.
Writing this review to help others with sizing/style choices. I ended up having to return this super cute swimsuit because it just didn't work for my body, but giving 5 stars anyway because it was excellent quality, comfortable (no itchy seams, nice material), and beautiful. But...I am a disproportionate 5'3, 165lbs, with doube D's, and a modest behind. I bought a size 14 - which is generally my size in pants - and it did fit (zipped up comfortably, not tight, not loose, looked good on the caboose) but the neck came up quite a bit too high (well into my hairline). The suit was so cute that I would have dealt with that issue but there is NO boob support. The cups are nice, but they don't really hold anything in place and if you have larger breasts, you're one tiny jump away from major readjustment. The band around the chest area isn't any help and since there's really no adjusting straps or ties, you're kind of sol if you're too big or small chested. I seriously attempted to wear a Bralette underneath just to justify keeping this suit but alas....like most bathing suits, it was not meant for my body type.     • Excellent for sun protection
I was looking for a swim suit to cover my back, so I wouldn't have to sunscreen my back. There are so few brands that make them, and the other I was considering was $100. I got the "pansy" pattern. The main color is a dark blue, a slightly lighter navy than in the picture. It is true to size - I wear size 12 pants and bought a 12 which fits perfectly. It's not quite as thick and compressing as my favorite size 12 speedo brand one piece, so it feels like a slightly lower quality. But it is sporty and flattering. Good butt coverage, and doesn't dig in on the sides of the bikini line. Lined cups for nipp1e coverage but no other support, so the overall shape could be a little better on top. Great if you have kids who hang on you in the pool. For my purposes of taking the kids to the pool by myself, and for this price, very worthwhile! ... show more

I am 5’6 and 150lbs. I am normally a size 8. My torso is long so one pieces are hard. I wanted a one piece that would stay put if I am doing outdoor activities, surfing, OR swimming laps at the pool. It seems like every other bathing suit I tried didn’t fit well or was not made to actually do activities in. This one is AWESOME! It is thick and well made. The white does NOT show through at all! It is a little high on the legs/butt. However, it really does fit well overall, stays on place, is super comfortable, and is beautiful. I would love a pair of matching board shorts for when I am running around out of the water since the butt coverage isn’t the best. Other than that, it is perfect!! ... show more

    • Fits cute but rides up high on the hips/waist. Not good for physical activities
At first, I was smitten with this suit. It offers great sun protection and is incredibly flattering on. It does ride up and becomes highwaisted with wear with a little bit of a wedgie (what suit doesn't) but it's still super cute. My biggest complaint was that after surfing in this for a couple hours, I developed a rash under my armpit where you find the seam. I'm muscular with very little torso fat/pudge, so this was the first time I've ever had that as a problem. This suit is also great at collecting sand from the water. After a few hours in the ocean, I could host an archaeological dig with the amount of beach stuck between the layers of this bathing suit. I literally cut holes in the fabric in order to drain the sand out after each wear. ... show more

I get a lot of comments on this suit at the pool. Easy to zip up and the hips have the open sides that are flattering and something different. Buying in other patterns for sure.

I have a bit of an issue with my armpits and a health thing so this is great to cover that embarrassing part of me that makes me feel self-conscious. Beyond that I have a large chest at my age and it still looks great and fits well! The solid color and the floral pattern inserts make me look slightly thinner and I picked up some shorts that match which makes me so much more comfortable swimming around family and friends.     • GREAT SUIT, Maybe order bigger if you're taller
Size: 14 Color: Mystery
This suit is very well made, fabric isn't going to fade, very capable zipper, looks and feels like it's made for water sports. The only hitch is that one-piece suits don't know the difference between a woman 5'2" and one who's 5'8". I'm a muscular girl and ordered a size 14 and although it fit fine, it was very hard to get off and on without feeling like I was going to rip it somewhere. I was wishing the zipper was slightly longer. And for a heavy pool workout the arm openings felt too tight. I ordered the same suit again in a size 16 and it overall is easier to get off and on and felt way more comfortable for a 1-hr workout. The zippers are the same length but maybe slightly bigger suit girth gives more room to get the suit down, especially the long-sleeve version. Don't be afraid to order a size up if you're a taller woman. I also ordered the long-sleeve suit for cold water workouts and it fits perfectly as well. Long sleeve suit even has the long sleeves with thumb cutout, which is very sports-thoughtful! ... show more
