Most I’ve seen around town in the usual stores had rounded Traditional edges This frame is beautiful and I love the mat that came with it. It also came with complete hardware to either hang on the wall or display on the shelf. I have purchased multiple sizes of these frames for a wall in a stairwell and overall I love them. I will say that the support on the back of the 8x10, to be used for setting on a table/shelf, is not very strong and feels flimsy. I actually just removed that piece so it didn't interfere. However, for wall purposes these are great for the price! The other larger sizes I've ordered are great. The plastic is very clear and seems like glass, without the higher price tag.
