  • Nice upgrade from Logitech Quickcam 9000 Pro
Style: Fixed focus
With the short supply of Logitech c920/c922 cameras, I picked this AVerMedia PW313 camera from Staples as the reviews on YouTube showed that the video quality was similar. In a head-to-head comparison with my old Logitech 9000 with all adjustments made to maximize the picture quality, the AVerMedia camera definitely came out on top. One word of caution though, the only way to adjust the camera settings is by using the RECentral 4 program, or 3rd party software such as OBS Studio. They encourage you to use the CamEngine software, which adds a software layer onto the webcam, but I found that this software is CPU-heavy, using about 20% of CPU capacity. Instead, I used OBS Studio with VirtualCam plugin, which is able to perform the same function using only 5% of CPU capacity. Update - Dec 2020. With Logitech C920s cameras finally back in stock, I purchased one as a secondary camera and was able to make a direct comparison. I was surprised to discover that the image quality was significantly worse with the Logitech camera, despite extensive adjustment of settings. Additionally, the 2 pieces of software that Logitech provides to control the camera are horrible. The main advantage that the Logitech camera has is autofocus, but this is only useful if you are sitting within a foot of the camera and need a close-up. Otherwise, the focus stays at maximum distance which is the same as fixed-focus. The Avermedia PW313 will stay as my primary camera. ... show more

  • This camera doesn't have auto-focus.
Style: Fixed focus
If you're using this webcam to take online test that require you to show your driver's license or equivalent government issued ID, then you're out of luck, it won't focus on it when it's put in front of the camera. If you need auto-focus get a Logitech 920 HD Pro or a Logitech Brio that has 4k and really good auto-focusing ability. ... show more

  • mediocre picture quality; no adaptive background light compensation
Style: Fixed focus
Picture quality is okay but not super great. I feels slightly worse (maybe a tiny bit more noisy) than Logitech C920. My main issue is the lack of auto backlight compensation. I have a window behind me which is very bright during the day and dark in the evening. I had to manually adjust the backlight compensation in the software so my face is more visible. Unfortunately I did not like this so returned the product. ... show more

  • Pretty good, will probably buy another one or two
Style: Fixed focus
These provide a great picture for telecons, I notice that mine is the clearest out of all my coworkers, not that it matters all that much. But, it is nice when talking to girlfriends *cough cough*. I'll probably be buying one for her too, since the logitech ones are way too expensive. My only gripe is that some of the settings with the Avermedia software don't work as expected, if it wasn't for that, it'd be 5 stars. I'm not a youtubing streamcaster, so keep that in mind. ... show more

  • Great picture quality
Style: Fixed focus
I use for my Zumba classes that I teach on Zoom. I bought on the recommendation of another Zumba instructor. It was easy to connect and use, just plug and play. My students said the picture quality was a lot clearer and sharper than my MacBook camera.

  • Great alternative to some of the more expensive cameras out there.
Style: Fixed focus
The field of view is a little narrow but that is what I was looking for. The video is clear - great for home offices.

  • Image Could Be Sharper for the Price
Style: Auto focus
I use this webcam mostly for Zoom meetings. Here's why I'm only giving it 3 stars: 1. I had to return the first camera I received. No matter what I did, it was blurry. 2. I received the replacement camera rather quickly and the camera image was not blurry, However, the camera does not auto focus. It stays the same all the time. 2 to 3 feet from the camera allows you to be in focus. 3. The quality of the image is decent, but not as sharp as I would think for this price range. 4. The low light compensation is too strong. I'm overexposed and the image runs hot all the time, no matter what my lighting setup is. 5. At the time I ordered it, this camera cost about 80 bucks. In my opinion, it's way overpriced for the quality. It should be in the 25 to 30 bucks price range. Here are a few good things, though: 1. The image is decent. 2. The mount on the camera is nice and sturdy with rubber grips, so that it stays in place on your monitor. 3. It has a privacy cover. For those of you keeping score, here's the breakdown: Design- B Image Quality- C Focal Range- C Ease of Use- B Value- D Overall Grade: C ... show more

  • Very nice piece of hardware: Simple design easy setup
Style: Fixed focus
HD cameras have been hard to find. So I took a chance on this brand, and was pleasantly surprised. The hardware is very nice and setup was snap. Zero issues and streaming is very smooth.
