  • Fantastic little projector, with a little fuzziness around the edges, but excellent focus otherwise
Color: White
First of all, the auto-focus/auto-keystone/auto-position function is really really cool, and accurate. Not only does it do a great job, but if it fails to some degree, there's a button right on the remote to have it auto focus again. It'll look for obstructions in it's path and move the position of the image (not the actual projector) to avoid the obstruction. Also, any time the project is moved, it's automatically go into the auto-focus mode. It's nice to not have to think about that. One thing tho... The left edge of the projected image was a little fuzzy and I couldn't get it to focus like the rest of the image. The projector is also very bright (go LEDs!) and gives us a good picture even in the middle of the day (for a projector). The smart capabilities allow us to connect Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc. and a world of other apps to stream content. Its Bluetooth let us connect a stereo system without any issues. This was actually a very easy project to set up. Everything is intuitive and plug n play. One thing that might be nice is to have it come with a stronger HDMI cable that will support HDCI. It's the cheapo kind that barely gets you off the ground (if you need HDMI. I didn't really since I stream all my content through the apps on the project directly). A few other minor issues: 1. The remote works well enough, but it's very cheap. I'm worried I'll one day push a hole through the thing just trying to change the volume. And why not send a remote with a small keyboard on it like a Roku? Typing in passwords using the arrow buttons is a big fat pain. Count on an hour or two, getting the streaming accounts set up. 2. The remote did NOT come with batteries. So I supplied my own. Not sure why this wouldn't come with a couple of AAA batteries. Most projectors do. 3. The power cord is really short and make most mobile applications difficult. I mean, if you plug this into your ceiling from a mount, that's fine, but if you want to put it up and take it down each time you use it, you have to place it close to a wall outlet. That's not usually convenient. So a longer cord would have been nice. Other than those small things, this really is a fantastic projector. My kids love setting it up and watching movies as a family on one of our blank walls. I highly recommend this one. ... show more

  • Great projector for home theater
Color: White
Fantastic projector for home use. The 1080P native resolution with 500 ANSI brightness provides stunning visuals. The object avoidance and screen adaption are great features to have too. However, after some time, the menu became laggy to use. Highly recommend for a quality home theater experience!

  • 5 stars. Great, great, I mean GREAT projector!
Color: Grey
This projector is great! i'm unsure of the 1st review where they had many issues...but that wasnt the case for me. Set up was smooth and easy. It didnt have your typical downloaded apps downloaded, but after opening the play store and signing into Google, installing everything from Hulu to Pluto was done with ease. We hung this up in our room, as it's much larger than our 50" TV. My husband is excited to use this for his own personal reasons...I am excited that it's a clear quality projector. It took some getting use to the controls to make it level with our dresser, but once you learn the steps to fixing the orientation it is such a super easy process. I definetly would reccomend this projector to anyone who's willing to learn the basic controls. AND for the price- WHERE ARE= YOU GOING TO FIND AN 80in+ TV for less than $300? You're not. So just buy this and embrace the learning curve. Id most certainly recommend this to anyone who's willing to sacrifice a little time to educate themselves in the program and their controls. If this isn't you, than a projector probably shouldnt be on your list of wants. You obviously dont want it that bad if your unable to take 10 minutes to learn the controls. ... show more

  • Nice picture, reasonably easy to set up
Color: Grey
I hooked this one up to an older AppleTV, which worked fine, so I can't say much about the apps functionality. If you use Android apps for video, this allows that. There seems to be 8 GB of storage, some of which is used by the OS, I suppose. I can't say if the 4k claim is legitimate or not; I don't have a convenient 4k source to test it with, but the 1080 tests out fine. Up-sampling DVDs wasn't spectacular, but BluRay or streaming HD looks quite nice. The menus for controlling and setting up the device are clean and nice enough to use. I was able to get the thing on to our WiFi network with no fuss. The auto-focus usually works fine, and when it doesn't you can hit a button on the remote and it tries again. It gets there in the end for me without causing any real frustration. The depth-of-field is pretty shallow, so the whole screen won't be in focus if you are projecting at much of an angle. The auto-keystone, that only runs at start-up, does a decent job, but if a lot of keystone is required, that will mean that the screen will only be in focus in part of the image. The lens cap that come with the projector won't go back on the lens if the focus distance is short (about five feet in my case), so I rigged a flap of paper to use as a lens-cap (our house is pretty dusty). If you project across the room normally, you might be able to use the provided cap; I can't say one way or the other for sure. The stand works well, but can block the plug ports in some configurations. You might have to fuss with that. You can run it upside-down if that helps (the picture can be flipped). There's no provision for a tripod thread, but the stand has a hole in it to use if you wanted to mount it with a screw. It isn't compact, really, and no case is provided, so its portability is somewhat reduced. It is reasonably attractive, so it can be left out without becoming an eyesore. ... show more
