  • All good if you have settings right.
Style: 28" 4K
This is a great monitor for the price. I found that I had to have the right settings, then it looked great. I haven’t run any games on it, so I couldn’t rate that. But the 1 ms timing doesn’t hurt. I read a lot of very negative reviews about this monitor and evaluated it with these in mind. Most of them are way off base. Firstly, while some of the view modes are a little “washed-out”, I just set mine to either RGB or Theater mode. Theater mode is the best, in my opinion, because it gives the clearest, brightest picture. And it’s spectacular! I’m comparing it to my older 1900x1080 Samsung 144Hz monitor on the one hand and the OLED display on my iPhone. This monitor is not as bright as my old Samsung, but the colors are better. And this monitor’s color gamut almost seems comparable to my OLED iPhone! It’s really, really nice. Secondly, I reduced the output of only red and blue each, by 5%. This eliminated what was a little bias in the color balance that I didn’t like, but now it’s perfect! Thirdly, the whites are crisp and bright… I do have my brightness turned up to 100%, but a little lower down to 80% is fine too. I have my contrast a bit higher as well. The blacks are deep and true black. There is also subtlety in the display of gray shades. Fourthly, the resolution is awesome! So sharp and crystal clear. I’m doing photo editing on it and the nuances of high res pics come through great. I do not experience any of the display anomalies described in some of the negative reviews. Videos are smooth and spectacular. I did do a high res game benchmark and the display was fine. Looked great. But the video game benchmark result was average, because of the limiting factor of my older nvidia GeForce gtx 1650 card. I would definitely, if you have the money, get a better quality video card to power this monitor. I have been unable to get 10bit color to work, I’m pretty sure because I’m using an HDMI instead of Display Port cable. Also, this monitor is having no problem at all “waking up” when I power on my computer. It does take a little longer than my Samsung did; the screen just comes on as Windows is loading. If you are shopping for a budget computer monitor upgrade, want to save money, don’t really need a better $500 -$700 high res, high refresh rate, I highly recommend this one. 60Hz is just fine for me, looks great compared to my older 144hz monitor. I’m very impressed and pleased with this Asus monitor. The pictures I submitted for this speak for themselves. I can now update my review on this monitor with additional pertinent information. I just connected my monitor using a DisplayPort cable instead of the HDMI and found that graphics performance increased dramatically. My Passmark score for 3D graphics improved right away by more than 20%. I can now enable 10bit color and the display has improved significantly. The display now has even more clarity and brilliance than before when I said it’s spectacular. I just went: “Wow!!!”. Ultra HD videos are absolutely stunning and smooth. I gave this monitor an excellent score before, but now I’m floored! For the price, this monitor is a no-brainer. But do yourself a favor and connect it using a DisplayPort cable. ... show more

  • Excellent Monitor. Great Price. Clear Picture.
Style: 32" 4K Adaptive-Sync HDR10
Monitor is pretty good so far ( upgrade from Asus 27 inch monitor ). Picture quality is excellent ( even better in HDR mode ). Until now, I don't have any complaints with this purchase.

  • Works Perfectly
Style: 32" 4K Adaptive-Sync HDR10
Bought this to use with new Mac Mini M2. Some have complained about not getting a good resolution or requiring a lot of tweaking. For me it worked right out of the box, beautifully! I do quite a bit of CAD work and this monitor does all I could ask for.

  • Pretty Good (So Far)!
Style: 28" 4K
Monitor is pretty good so far. Though the price was good for the resolution and refresh rate. You do have to do some messing around with the settings as the out of the box picture quality is absolute trash and just doesn't look good. My personal settings are: Brightness: 92 Contrast: 19 Saturation: 47 Cold Temp. Warm Sharpness: 60 And I found that Theater Mode looks pretty good. The only issue I have with the monitor is that the top of the screen looks the tiniest bit darker than the center or the bottom of the screen, BUT I only think that because I might be sitting a little too low, but at the same time my eyes are level about 3/4 from the bottom of the screen. ... show more

  • Excellent monitor!! Please read if you're considering or an existing owner
Style: 28" 4K
This is a great monitor, don't get discouraged by the negative reviews! I encountered a lot of the problems mentioned in the negative reviews but got this thing running finely tuned with no flickering or image issues. ASUS gives you a lot of adjustments and settings on the OSD with the ability to save four profiles but none of the presets are that great out of the box and require some additional tweaking for the best picture. ASUS should have this more fine tuned when it leaves the factory for better plug and play compatibility...take note ASUS! The hardware you connect this to also makes a big difference, here's how my journey has gone since purchasing: I bought this (April 2020) to be a primary monitor that ran off a slightly older MSI gaming laptop with a nVidia GT 765M 2GB connected using the display port cable. This is where I encountered most of my problems with flickering and instability as the GT 765M was not able to handle the 3840 x 2160 resolution even with the laptop screen turned off. I gained the stability by turning the resolution down to 1920 x 1080 and by using the "nVidia Recommended" settings in the nVidia Control Panel. I found that tinkering with too many of these settings also resulted in flickering and blackouts. Not satisfied with this arrangement I recently decided to sell the MSI laptop and build a new micro atx tower (loved the laptop but always have been more a desktop fan because you have more upgrade options). My new tower has a Intel 10th Gen Core i3 chip with the built-in UHD Graphics 630 which has plenty of power to run this monitor at the full 3840 x 2160 resolution. UHD videos on Netflix and Disney+ look amazing and run smoothly. At the end of the day though it's really dependent on the video or picture source, this also has a huge impact on the final quality (check out some of the 4K and 8K videos on YouTube while your adjusting and fine tuning the settings on the monitor). Colors look great and "pop" and the off viewing angles are great as well. After being on the two aforementioned systems, here are the monitor settings that I currently use: GameMode Blue Light Filter - Level 0 Brightness - 75 Contrast - 75 Saturation - 55 Color Temp - User Mode R-95 G-100 B-100 Skin Tone - Natural Smart View - OFF Sharpness - 50 (Already a high res monitor, too much decreases image quality) Trace Free - 60 (Already a high res monitor, too much decreases image quality) VividPixel - 25 (Already a high res monitor, too much decreases image quality) ASCR - ON Adaptive Sync/FreeSync - OFF (Graphics card on order, will update after install) GamePlus - OFF These are a good starting point for your initial setup (be sure to save your profile in one of the four available) or if your struggling to find a good combination. Obviously your system and personal tastes will vary and additional tweaking may be required. Cons: - The included stand has limited adjustment, it can only tilt the screen. I'm assuming ASUS did this keep the cost low and most gamers will just mount on an arm anyways...I did and love it! - No USB connectors which I personally find convenient (bought a 4 port USB 3.0 hub for my desk) - Brightness could be better but most gamers probably won't mind, typically playing in darker environments. Hope this helps! (Updated 8/28/2020) ... show more
