  • Excellent little telescope that can see Jupiter's details if you know where to look!
This is an excellent little telescope that performs exceptionally well despite its affordable price and somewhat diminutive size. It includes 2 different lenses and it's got a nifty, if somewhat simple, little backpack included that the telescope can fit into when disassembled. The lenses come with little containers for them to stay in so they don't get scratched when not in use, and all of the in-telescope lenses have caps for you to put on them so they don't get scratched up or dirty either. I will say, the instructions on how to focus the telescope are a bit lacking. If you don't already have at least some understanding on how to adjust a telescope, you might have issues with this; but honestly you can look up a video that shows you exactly how to adjust a telescope to look at almost any specific planet or body in the sky. And once you learn how it works, you'll know for future uses. The telescope is light and easy to maneuver despite its approximately forearm-length size. With all the pieces of the telescope fully assembled, it still isn't heavy, and the adjustable tripod easily holds it steady at almost any angle. It also has a little mini-scope that slides on the top to help you aim the telescope with a much wider field of view so you can aim more accurately. The little backpack that comes with the telescope is perhaps a bit simple - as in it might not be super comfortable to wear for long times and it only has minimal padding - but it works for the purpose and you shouldn't have any issues carrying this telescope around with you wherever you'd like to go. Just make sure if you give it to a little one that they know not to toss it around too much! The telescope is made almost fully of plastic, though obviously with glass lenses and some mirrors in it. The plastic is high-quality though and it doesn't feel like it's liable to breaking, so it works well for this telescope and it makes it lightweight and easy to aim. Overall, this is an excellent little telescope that can see very far away planets, very clearly, as long as you have a basic understanding of how to use a telescope. I recommend this and I'll keep using it when I have the chance, and I'll update this review if I have any issues with it down the line. I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected. ... show more

  • Objective Lens 70mm; Focal Length 400mm; Best for ages 10 - 16
As an experienced astrophotographer, this has to be the toughest Amazon review I have had to write. What this manufacturer is trying to do is nothing short of incredible. At the time of writing this review, the product is selling for 59.99 with a 20.00 coupon. It is unimaginable to think that one can have any sort of view of the night sky at that price. With this telescope, you are going to see the craters on the moon, Jupiter, and the rings of Saturn. Please note, with this tripod, it will require a lot of skill to get a glimpse of Jupiter and Saturn. Also note, Jupiter and Saturn will be about the size of plastic bead in the eyepiece. Who is this telescope for? This telescope is for anyone who may think they have an interest in astronomy. For me, I first saw the moon through a cheap telescope around the age 23. I was so blown away it led me to a career in engineering and I’ve spent over a decade imaging the night sky with very expensive equipment. This product can create that spark. The very first bad thing about this scope is after you have viewed the moon, Jupiter, and Saturn, you have instantly outgrown this scope. This scope can be a hobby ender if one tries any more advanced viewing because of the frustration and inadequacy of the optics, mechanics, and tripod. The optics on this telescope are just barely good enough to get a decent view of the moon. I have attached a photograph of the moon I took with this telescope. Please note that what you see with your eye will be much sharper than the image; however, the image is telling of the quality of optics. A high quality scope will yield sharp images. The rack and pinion focuser will drive you mad as the image jumps all over the place when trying to focus on a target. The 5mm eyepiece is nearly useless and is too high power for the optics of this scope. The manufacturer should have used something like 12mm. The 25mm eyepiece will give you your best views. This is also one of the reasons for the blur in my photo. The sensor is trying to resolve more details than the objective lens can handle. The tripod has a relatively smooth transition, and will allow you to view objects once you get the hang of it. The hook at the bottom is so you can hang a heavy object from the tripod. Put some textbooks in a grocery store bag and hang it from the hook. It will make the tripod more stable. In the world of astronomy and telescopes, the quality of this product is somewhere around 2 stars. My rating is based on innovation, price per view quality, and STEM interest. I believe a telescope like this could spark the imagination of a young child, but be prepared to spend much more to nurture that interest. ... show more

  • Excellent Portable Telescope for Stargazing and Exploration
A fantastic choice for both beginners and seasoned stargazers! The adjustable tripod provides stability, and the included finder compass makes it easy to locate celestial objects. The lens quality is impressive, offering clear views of the moon, planets, and even distant stars. It’s lightweight and portable, making it ideal for travel or outdoor adventures. I’ve used it with my kids, and it’s been a fun and educational experience. Perfect for adults, children, and teens alike. ... show more

  • Astronomical Telescope
This is a fun toy to introduce my daughter to astronomy. It does pretty well for looking at the moon. It can focus good and is sturdy on the tripod. If you want to look at anything further away, it won't zoom in as much as you'll want. It is a great beginner telescope.

  • Sort of a toy
Tried to get this working with my kids the other night, the tripod it comes with is less than useless, it wobbles and sways so much you can have a planet in and out of frame in 3 directions just by tapping the telescope. I wouldn't say it's awful, on a crystal clear night we can see some things Much better for maybe looking at distant mountains with some sunlight, rather than planet gazing. Definitely portable though and the bag it comes with fits all the accessories. ... show more
