  • Great headset
Style: Playstation
Very high quality sound and construction. Comfortable fit.

  • Amazing headphone
Style: Xbox
Originally I went with the A10s because of popularity but those did not fit my ears the way I like they say on top and which gets uncomfortable after a while. Sound quality was not that great either. But these are very comfortable and sound amazing. I don’t use an amp because they go into my Xlr interface but they sound perfectly fine with out. Also the build quality feels really sturdy and high quality. ... show more

  • Great For PS5!!
Style: Playstation
I bought these looking to replace my “Logitech Pro X (wired) and it was the BEST decision ever! I purchased the Logitech headset thinking it would be great for the PS5, but when I received it the microphone never worked… the sound was great for them, but the lack of a working microphone for a ($130) headset at the time, really upset me. Also Logitech Customer Service was terrible. I bought the Astro A40s recently, and was skeptical at first, given that it’s parent company is, well Logitech. Oh was I wrong though, when I finally got them in the mail, it was fast shipping. Once I plugged them in, it sounded like a home theater, but on my ears! I also tested the microphone, and everything worked like it should have, and people say I sound good on their end too. I highly recommend getting these, especially for next (current gen) consoles. They sound superb! Especially tuned with Astro Audio V2, made for next gen. ... show more

  • Good audio

The only downside to these are being wired.

  • Amazing headset
Style: Playstation
I love how comfortable and affordable it is. Audio is very nice and smooth, and microphone is very smooth as well. Only downside is that the audio is defaulted to 50% without purchasing a Mix Amp. Regardless, still a great headset, and I prefer it over most HyperX headsets.

  • REQUIRES the MixAmp Pro for Full Functionality
Style: Xbox
Short Version: These REQUIRE the MixAmp Pro to be fully utilized!!! If you buy without the MixAmp, you will be limited to 50% volume by design. This is not stated anywhere on the website, but was confirmed by Logitech support and testing. Long Version: I've heard a lot of great things about the Astro A40 TR and decided to give it a shot with my Xbox Series X and PC. Prior to this purchase, I was using the Logitech G635 and Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Aero; both great sounding headphones with excellent passive soundstages. When I read multiple reviews that the Astro A40 TR had an even better passive soundstage, with even clearer separation and a more spacious sound due to their open-back design, I was exited to try them. When I received them, I first hooked them up to my Xbox Series X via controller to compare them to the Atlas Aero I have been using most recently. The volume was very low by comparison and there was no bass, no crisp treble/highs, and no separation between the channels...the sound was very "flat". I thought it was perhaps a volume knob on the headset that needed adjusting, but there is not one. I thought it was perhaps my controller, so I tried another and got the same result. I then tried on my PC and got the same result. I also noticed the A40s did not activate the Dolby Atmos in the Xbox menu like the box and insert said they would do. The Atlas Aero and G635 both activate Dolby Atmos without issue. I called Logitech customer support and learned the Astro A40 TR headphones are meant to work with the MixAmp Pro. I was told they will work on their own, but as I discovered, they will be in a sort of "limp mode" without that MixAmp and will operate at a much lower volume with no support for Dolby Atmos or surround sound. Dolby surround support is apparently built into the MixAmp and is required for the Xbox/PC to recognize the headset as a Dolby Atmos compatible headset. Comparing the Astro A4 TR volume to the Atlas Aero and G635, it is at about 50% volume when the settings are maxed in the Xbox/PC menu. The Atlas Aero and G635 are LOUD with super crisp treble/highs and booming bass. The Astro A40 (without the MixAmp) has no bass and an overwhelming lack of treble/highs. As previously stated, they are super "flat" sounding with no range at all. My friend uses a variation of the Astro MixAmp and so I asked to try the MixAmp with the A40s. Sure enough, the volume was just as loud as my Atlas Aero and G635 with great bass and crisp highs. Was the sound and passive soundstage that much better than those other headsets? Not from what I could tell, but then again I did not do any in depth listening. I was more upset that I just bought a headset that now requires an additional accessory to even compete with my existing headsets that I paid less money for. I asked a Logitech support representative if I could buy the MixAmp and learned it is not sold separately. I did find it on Amazon for $80-$100+, but in "Used" or "Renewed" condition. Having to buy an additional accessory for something that should work right out of the box is ridiculous...especially when I already have two headsets that sound just as great and do not need any extra attachments to work. Needless to say, this item will be returned. ... show more
