  • Ok Little Switch-like Controller
BE NOTED - THIS CONTROLLER DOES NOT HAVE NFC/AMIIBO SUPPORT - THIS IS A HUGE THING FOR MOST NINTENDO FANS AND SO IF YOU BUY THIS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THEM. For the price of sub quarter hundred, you are so close to some other real contenders out there that I am not sure I can recommend this over something like the GameSir Nova Lite or for a little more the GameSir Cyclone 2. But I'm going to review it as it sits. OK, first impression of opening it up, size wise it looks almost identical to the Switch Pro Controller ... it kinda looks like your typical 3rd Party Clone ... then turned it on and oooh ahhhh the colors are pretty I'll give it that. The RGB is really done tastefully I'll give them that and if RGB is your jam, you'll love this. As usual, positives, neutrals, negatives - POSITIVES - the RGB is a pretty big positive - it's bright and works well, the packaging honestly is another huge positive to me - minimal wasteful packaging and almost fully recyclable, the analog sticks shipped with ring protectors - which adds to the quality of the packaging as it helps prevent stick drift in shipping, the shell is smooth and clean - this will also be a neutral comment coming up, the blue color is pretty sharp, it has two pretty decent back paddles that are easily pushed, the face buttons (ABXY plus smaller ones) are fairly easy to push, also there is no screw hold in the side where you would normally grip the controller - like a lot of other cheaper controllers NEUTRALS - analog sticks are your standard ALPS affair and are on par with the Switch Pro controller but presented with significant cardinal snapping along with higher than normal error rate (16.5% L, 15.7%R), the Dpad is tight and firm - very useable but passes the Contra test but not the Street Fighter test without some practice on it, remember how I said the exterior was smooth - this also is a bit of a neutral issue as well because it makes the controller feel very slick in your hands NEGATIVES - the cable is rather cheaply constructed (cheap plastic exterior) - only 24" long so won't get you from your console to it and way too short even though this is a wireless controller - you'd be walking up to your controller to charge it, the triggers and bumpers are short throw non-analog triggers which means no racing games with the controller - they are also very mushy, the button force all around is very inconsistent Overall, it's going to be a nice addition to my collection and the color when lit is amazing - I just wish it was just a little better ... plus the lack of Amiibo support is a huge game breaker for Switch usage. Bluetooth wise it connected fine to my Linux box, the Switch, my MBP and my Windows 11 desktop with most detecting it as the standard x-input controller (except the Switch - d-input). Wired worked on all platforms EXCEPT the MacOS which for some reason when connected wired inverts the analog sticks and there is no way to fix this no matter what you try. Bluetooth range and connectivity makes me believe this is probably a BT4.0 controller but it literally held out 15m before losing connection. A - 4.8N B - 1.9N X - 3.7N Y - 2.2N D-Pad - 8.0N L1 - 2.0N L2 - 2.4N L3 - 18.1N R1 - 4.0N R2 - 1.7N R3 - 6.0N Back Left - 2.0N Back Right - 3.0N Face Buttons - ~1.0N ... show more

  • Works Great - With Programmable Buttons!
This is my first off-brand Switch controller, and I have to say I'm impressed. It feels much like my true Pro Controller, though this one is a little lighter. The lights are fun, but can be turned off using the button on the back if you find them to be distracting. I haven't experienced any lag or connectivity issues at all. I use it interchangeably with my name brand controllers and have no preference for either one. I find the vibration of this controller to be a little extreme - maybe because it's so lightweight, but that can also be adjusted. For those of you who play fighting games, this controller can give you the edge due to its programmable buttons. Cheating for sure, but helpful, haha. For the price, I wouldn't hesitate to get another one of these rather than the pricey name brand ones. The box also looks rather nice, so it makes a decent gift as well. ... show more

  • ecent Pro Controller Alternative, But Better Budget Options Exist
In terms of shape, size, and bulk, this controller feels very similar to an official Pro Controller. The D-pad feels a bit off compared to the real thing, but it’s not a major issue. When it was priced at $24, it was a great deal, especially considering PowerA controllers usually cost around $50. However, if you're on a budget, there are better options available. It’s a solid choice, but not the best value out there. ... show more

  • Awesome Switch Controller
I am not the biggest gamer but I don’t really like the stock controllers on the Switch. I tried some adapters where you click the controllers into a holder that looks like a controller like this, and a different kind of one-piece controller but nothing felt right. This one is great though! It is more like an Xbox controller and that’s what I wanted. The size is good for my hands, it is not too big or too small. With the adapter it always felt too small. The vibration feels normal too, and can be calibrated if needed. My kids like the light around the joysticks, and I agree it looks really cool. There are a few different modes and it can be turned off if you don’t like it. The instructions that come with it are clear and setting it up on the Switch was super easy. This is definitely the best Switch controller I have used. The only problem is now I need to get at least one more because everyone who plays wants to use this one. ... show more

  • 3 stars is AVERAGE.
The ASTARRY Switch Pro Controller is a decent alternative to the official Nintendo controller, especially for the price. It connects easily to the Switch and works well with most games. The buttons are responsive, and the gyro and dual shock features add a nice touch. The battery life is also pretty solid, lasting multiple play sessions before needing a recharge. However, there are a few downsides. The build quality feels a bit cheap compared to premium controllers, and the joysticks aren’t as smooth as I’d like. The vibration can be a bit too strong or uneven at times, and there’s no way to adjust it. Also, while the controller is comfortable to hold, the grip isn’t as ergonomic as the official Pro Controller. Overall, it's a decent budget-friendly option, but if you’re looking for something with a more premium feel and better durability, you might want to invest in a higher-end controller. ... show more

  • Works flawlessly with my Nintendo Switch, great alternative for the official controller
Product: ASTARRY Switch Controller Wireless Switch Pro Controller Compatible with Switch/Switch Lite/Switch OLED Remote Joystick Gamepad Controllers Support Turbo Dual Shock Gyro Axis (Blue) ASIN: B0DJWCGTJZ There aren’t enough controllers for me to use for game night when people come over to play party games on the Switch. I decided to pick this controller up, and it works flawlessly. There’s no lag, and it feels light enough to hold. The rumble and lights work just as well as a regular Switch Pro controller. I highly recommend this one for those that are looking for a cheaper alternative to the official Pro controller. ... show more
