This mattress is worth every dollar. Me and my wife were ready to pick up the Serta foam mattress from Sam's club for $500. We read reviews of this mattress and the amazon basics mattress. But were concerned with how the mattress felt. The Sam's club mattress we tested out, sat on, laid on and jumped on. This was the main reason why we were going with the Serta from Sam's. The morning we were supposed to go to Sam's club, I read a review of this mattress that sold me. The guy was around my size (5'11, 230lbs) and answered all my questions I had hahahaaaa. I told my wife, i'm ordering this mattress (Queen size 12") it's half the price of the Sam's club Serta and if we didnt like it we could still return it. I'm glad we saved $250 by going with this mattress because its amazing. My issues, Lower back problems, I'm a side sleeper, I'm always hot, our old coil mattress sucked and My wife could feel every move i made on my side of the bed. Mattress was delivered in a day, delivery guy brought it to my door and offered to bring it inside. But it wasnt that heavy. I carried it up stairs to our room, with out a problem. Slid it out the box, cut the first bag open, unrolled it on top of our box spring and then cut the last bag open... Instantly it started to rise, slid the bag out from under the mattress and let it do its thing. To be safe and from the reviews we read, we opened the windows and had the febreeze ready. No smell what so ever. after 2 hours it was at about 10" and after 4 hours it was a little over 12". we gave it another 2 hours just incase but it didn't rise any higher. We put the sheets on and made the bed, it was higher than our old mattress. First thing i did was sit on the edge and noticed it didnt collapse. that was a good thing. Then i laid down and instantly fell in love haha. The mattress is firm but not hard. I could get in and out of bed with out my wife feeling a thing. First nights sleep was great, no issues, no lower back pain and absolutely no sweating. If you have back pain and need the support and want a good nights sleep. This is a great mattress. i'm no memory foam expert or mattress know it all. Im a regular guy that likes to sleep. I like the firmness of the mattress (actually a little too firm, so I am continuing to use the 2" foam topper I used on my previous conventional mattress). I have been using it for about 3 months now and it shows no signs of wear or sagging. It did have a strong chemical smell after I unrolled it, but I let it air out for 2 days and then used some febreeze and it was fine. I have heard good things about foam mattresses from friends and so far it is doing a good job supporting my lower back and most days I do not have any lower back pain (which is a regular issue for me--especially with conventional mattresses). ... show more

I ordered this mattress about a week ago, and have slept on it for 5 nights total now. It's exactly as advertised - it arrives rolled up and about 1 - 2 inches thick. You unroll it on your bed frame and take off the plastic vacuum bag and within an hour it's the full size you paid for. In my case it rose to 12" thickness in approximately 10 minutes. There was very little odor; a slight smell from the foam which lasted maybe a day and then dissipated. It was certainly not "overwhelming and room-filling" like many of the negative reviews here have described. We were unable to smell it unless we put our faces directly to the mattress. In terms of firmness, this is certainly a medium-firm mattress. I ordered this one after doing a ton of research; I like a firmer bed and I need the back support. I imagine it will soften slightly over time, but the longer you lay on it, the more comfortable you get. It's not a cloud, and you're not going to sink into it. If that's too firm for you, you might want look elsewhere. I purchased this because for about a year I have been having moderate to severe back pain, and I wanted to see how much of it was stemming from the crappy old spring mattress I was sleeping on. Now, maybe this is a bit of the placebo effect - that remains to be seen - but after 5 days my back pain has been dramatically reduced. I no longer feel like an old man getting out of bed - I have still been sore, but not in outright pain getting out of bed. This mattress has greatly improved my sleep quality as well - far less tossing and turning and for someone who usually has a lot of trouble getting to sleep, this has been a real aid. I will update this review after I've had it for a while, and then I will try to come back after around a year. If it's still roughly the same quality at that point, I'd say it's 1000% worth the price. 2 WEEK UPDATE: The mattress is still great. The firmness hasn't changed at all, and the mattress still regains its original shape within seconds of getting off of it. I am sleeping great and mostly back pain free. I will continue to update. 6 WEEK UPDATE: The mattress is the exact same quality now as when we took it out of the box. It feels pretty much the same, no changes in firmness or thickness. The mattress does sleep pretty warm. We purchased a set of "cooling" sheets - this is a big improvement and I definitely recommend it. The problem is totally solved. Otherwise, zero complaints. One of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. I will continue to update. 1 1/2 YEAR UPDATE: I have to say, this mattress is pretty much exactly as it was when we took it out of the box. No noticeable sag or change to the foam. We have rotated it 180 degrees so that our heads are on the opposite end, just to balance it out, but otherwise there has been virtually no change to the mattress. Still holds up great. 2 1/2 YEAR UPDATE: Just went and measured the mattress, and it's still exactly 12" thick. Still feels as firm as when we got it. Also the covering the mattress comes in (you don't remove it) is in perfect shape, just about. No change to the thickness, shape, firmness, or quality in just under 1000 nights of sleep with 2 adults. Not bad. ... show more
