Shake well before use. Rub a liberal amount of product between palms and distribute throughout hair and scalp. Work product through hair and massage scalp with fingertips as you would a conventional shampoo. For easy detangling carefully comb through hair with a wide-tooth comb before rinsing co-wash from hair. Rinse and repeat if needed. Follow with conditioning.

I have scalp psoriasis and this is one of the few products that helps. I have tried everything and this is the only one that removes the build up and keeps my scalp clean. After I get out of the shower I treat my scalp with tea tree oil and Salicylic Acid that keeps the skin moisturized.

Within the last year I’ve discovered the beauty of cowash. I have extremely think hair and it’s very curly. My natural curls, I believe, fall in the type 3 range. I’ve struggled with dry scalp and psoriasis of the scalp since I was a teenager. Before now, my favorite cowash was the As I Am Coconut cowash which worked well but I saw this and wanted to try it out. When I say my scalp feels cool, moisturized and refreshed I can’t tell you how good of a feeling it is. The photos are of my hair AFTER using the cowash for the first time. My hair looks and feels amazing. My scalp has stopped itching. I followed the directions to section my hair while damp and apply generously to each section. My hair needed a lot of love so I lathered it into each section of my hair completely. I was also able to actually brush my hair out while I let the cowash sit in my hair for 30 minutes. The cowash is very creamy and thick. If your curls are easily weighed down I definitely wouldn’t use as much product. I haven’t brushed my hair out in over 6 months. Usually I use my fingers to de-tangle it while in the shower. It was nice to actually brush without breakage. This will definitely be my new go to cowash. If you have thick hair and have issues with dandruff, dry scalp, itchy scalp or even psoriasis I would recommend giving this a shot.     • Works, but heavily fragranced with a cheap men’s cologne smell
**Update after several washings** I've gotten used to the smell and it's not so overwhelming anymore. It doesn't give me a headache nor irritate my scalp. I love how my hair looks after it dries, even if I let it dry naturally, which with traditional poo/conditioner would be unattractive, tangled and frizzy. This stuff is great. I'm upgrading from three to four stars. It would be a five-star product if the smell wasn't so overwhelmingly strong. I prefer natural scents from essential oils. This left my hair soft and shiny and seemed to tame flyaways. My scalp is not itchy. The product is thick so it seems like a good value. My only gripe is that this is heavily fragranced! Like I smell like a Jersey Shore dude covered in Axe body spray cheap cologne smell. Since I didn’t notice that anywhere in reviews I read before I ordering I am making sure to add that here for women who would want to know. I’m not sure I can even use it again because the smell is so overwhelming. That said, I stay away from perfumed products due to skin irritation/allergy issues, and as far as I can fell after one use, this didn’t irritate my skin despite the smell. I have textured and mixed girl hair. I have suffered dry and itchy scalp since puberty and I’m 25! For years I have been battling dry itchy scalp and bad flakes and this product saved me! I have tried Tea Tree Oil, baking soda, and the good ole Head and Shoulders which never worked (H&S is not good for curls and it has a a lot of harsh ingredients). My hair stylist who has curly hair as well has always told me great things about “As I Am” products. One day when I was at Walmart I came across this brand and this product and had to try it since nothing else was helping with my itchy scalp and flakes. As soon as I used it I felt Instant relief! Flake and itchiness gone! I felt like my scalp could breathe! I also love the cooking sensation it gives your scalp when you use it!     • Has gotten rid of my dandruff/scalp psoriasis and no longer itch
I am multi-racial and have been struggling with find a good product for my hair for just about as long as I have been born, I've used lots of dandruff shampoos or tea tree shampoos, or other natural products that are co-wash or x,y,z, free and none of them worked... But this stuff? All my problems are gone! I've spent years being embarrased by how much my scalp flaked, would get all over my clothes and my pillows, it's all been reversed and I can't think of ever changing to a different product now. This is a god send for mixed and/or textured hair, everyone will have a different experience since our hair is unique, but I 100% recommend giving this product a try. ... show more

I have used this product for a couple of months now and really like the results. I have a couple of complaints however. First of all the picture I uploaded shows the condition of the jar of shampoo when it arrived. As you can see there’s leakage. My second complaint is because it’s in a jar like this you have to unscrew the lid and then dip your fingers in to get the cowash out and then smear it on your hair during the showering process. It’s not exactly the most convenient product to use, but I really do like the results so I would say I do recommend it.
