These are exactly as described. They open "up to" the widest dimension, therefore more of a range. A smaller width heavier item may not work as it will push the stand to its widest opening and may not securely hold the item. They are not a "fixed" width but rather a range. The gold is a nice finish.

I really like these and the only reason I can't give a 5 rating is because they tend not to stay wide open and thus stable - especially if touched or moved at all. Works great in a spot where they won't be touched at all. Be sure to buy the largest size indicated for the height of your artwork because they are not super sturdy so smaller than indicated won't hold your artwork.
