I let this sit for a few days when it arrived due to the pungent chemical odor coming off it. I read online that it’s ‘normal’ and that the smell should dissipate in a few days, but it hasn’t... yet. Anyway, the size nearly takes up a quarter of my balcony and is slowly flattening out. I’ll upload photos when it’s settled, but besides appearance it has oddly gratifying sensation. The fibers, if you could call them that, of the grassmat are close-nit together with a interlaced pad that holds it all together. The holes allow water to flow through, without standing water, meaning less chance of mold and sloshing. It’s really awkward to hold and unfold, but the fold lines are slowly disappearing. Rather than post pictures of what it looks like on delivery, I’d rather show what it looks like after a couple weeks. When it was delivered it had an, almost bright, green appearance; I hope the color fades a little bit, but I’m using it for my balcony - where my cats hang out. I’m giving this a 5/5 for now, but durability and what it looks like in several weeks will adjust my rating. There was no smell upon opening the grass turf roll. It seems well made; however, this is my first experience with turf. The stakes that come with the turf were somewhat smaller and shorter than what we were expecting. We are hoping the dogs don't find them and pull them out of the ground. The measurements were slightly off even after flattening out the turf. We are hoping the wrinkles come out soon, and we plan on going back out to redo the stakes. So far it has kept the mud from being tracked in. Also, I have several dogs, one of which is really picky about what her walks on. He had no problem walking over this. I can't speak on how long it is going to last, only time will tell. ... show more

I’m using this a bit differently than most buyers. We recently adopted an adult dog that had previously used a doggie door for 5-6 years. House training was proving to be a bit difficult, so we tried using puppy pads. There was just something missing with just using the puppy pads. So, we bought this to cut into custom sizes for placing over the puppy pads. We wanted extra, so we could replace the pieces as needed. This seems to be working well and helps the dog feel “grass” under his paws which seems to be helping with his training. The grass was easy to lay out in my garage and cut to the sizes I needed. This is truly one of the worst quality pieces of artificial turf I've ever received. It's just awful and looks absolutely nothing like the seller's photos. It's thin, see-through, shiny, crunchy, hard, and deformed. It's advertised as a roll, which it is, AFTER it has been folded three times and then rolled up, deforming it. It is a huge 6x10 piece that weighs hardly anything, and it's so hard that it won't lay flat and it crunches when you walk on it. It's so thin that you can see through it and have to wear shoes because you can feel everything underneath it. The only thing that they got right is the color; it's actually the perfect shade of green. However, it's so shiny that it has a silver reflection in the sun. Hopefully, my photos show some of these details and can help someone with their decision. There is no way I would order this again. ... show more

Just like others said in their reviews- I encountered much of the same issues. This is thin... not natural looking and was a pain to get flat. The creases and separation in the blades after unrolling were horrific but I combatted that by laying it on flat cement and soaking it with a hose then let it dry in the sun. I still had to use twice as many attachment spikes as I did with other larger pieces in my yard and you can still see the shipping creases. The blades are not well attached... cuz this sheds and In time I suspect it will be bald especially with my dachshund who likes to spread her scent after going. It is fairly soft and my girls don't mind it but I was definitely disappointed in the quality. The included garden gloves were completely unnecessary and I hate the U shaped spikes they included as you can clearly see them in the thin blades. I would not get this brand again that's for sure. ... show more

This is definitely a more plush astroturfing than we are normally used to purchasing and we are using in our outside area. We placed this 5x8 piece by our office outside door for when we take breaks and let our dog out and it helps cutdown the amount of dirt and leaves we track in. It’s withheld a hail storm we had the other night plus the wind. We didn’t have to cut at all and hubby was able to secure it easily with stakes he previously had. It is on the more expensive side of astroturf so we will see how it hold us over time for the price. ... show more

This comes folded and then rolled. The backing is a creme color woven plastic fabric that looks a lot like what the back of household carpeting looks like. It also has a similar texture and rigidity. The grass itself is approximately 7/8-inch long and is fairly densely spaced, but if you dig in or brush different directions you can see the base . However, the base on the grass side is a color closer to a dark charcoal or almost black so it's less noticable, giving the feeling of a much denser grass. The grass can be cut, but you'll need a stronger pair of scissors than your normal household scissors, or a serrated edge knife would work, too. ... show more
