the paints came in great condition,and I did a painting on canvas board with pallet knives straight from the tube,its an impressionistic painting..no additiives or mediums added to paint and it did great..lots of texture and its opaque like it should be..ive painted many years but took a break from acrylics..and i have my own studio now with plenty of room so i wanted to try acrylics again..these do dry with a little sheen to it,not too glossy..i will buy these again..wonderful to work with..i will add that if you paint thickly like i did it will take overnight to dry..and i noticed they didnt seem to dry as quicky as other paints ive used on the pallet..but i will still use a stay wet pallet..i got the 20 set,plenty of colors and 4 oz tubes is plenty to last a good while if not making huge paintings..i also bought metallic paint in small bottles,very happy with it. ... show more

Just used the product to touch up a craft item. Painted the piece and it dried with a shiny finish,which is exactly what I wanted. No satin, no matte finish. Nice shinny finish. I've been working with pencil and watercolor art for some time now and was curious about working with acrylic. Not wishing to spend too much money at first, I initially bought a set from Weisbrandt, which featured 20 some small tubes. I hate to say it because perhaps it works better on craft projects, it was unusable for artwork (really bad, in fact). So, I ordered this set of primary and secondary (plus white and black) acrylic paints from Artecho. After ordering them, I started to worry if they were any good, as I could find very little about them on the Internet. They quickly arrived today and I just tested all the colors. And yanno what? They're really quite good! For the low cost (about $15) and the size of the tubes (you get a lot!), I was a bit concerned if they'd be of good quality. Happily, they are (for a student grade level) excellent! Even yellow, normally a frustrating color at times, did a fine job of coverage (no second coat required). These also easily mix well with one another, and of course, you get the bonus black and white hues to mix with the others for a lighter or darker shade (in watercolor, we're told not to use black or white in mixes, but it seems that's okay to do with acrylics). I am extremely pleased with this product and will certainly be viewing their catalogue for other shades of acrylic. This product was so good that I had to review. My go-to was always Rub and Buff...for years. This time I tried using on an old wood mirror and it looked awful. Amazon reviewers gave this product 5 stars and this product kicked Rub and Buff to the curb...at least on my wood mirror. (Rub and Buff does cover beautifully on other items). The mirror was originally light wood and then painted to a grey white. I wanted a French look like the gold framed mirrors that are shown now. I’ve been looking for a champagne gold color to repaint some fixtures around my house. Everything else I tried was very dark so I tried metallic beige which was too light. Then I tried this and it’s PERFECT. It’s SLIGHTLY more metallic than I would like but if you’re looking for champagne gold metallic color you probably wont find anything closer than this. Update: I just painted 4 paper plates with all of the “champagne” gold-like colors I’ve chosen and this is still my FAVKRITE by FAR. It’s hard to tell how gorgeous the color is in the photo cuz it looks kind of like yellow goo but it’s a truly beautiful color. ... show more
