I was really excited when I got these and was even more excited to test them out. I didn't realize they were so fine tipped when I bought them so I was a little surprised when I took the cap off. Over all I think it's a cool product. I wouldn't say it's completely beginner friendly because the tip of the marker is a hard plastic which makes it a little difficult to maneuver especially on fragile canvases but the colors are so pigmented and beautiful I don't completely mind. I think I would rate this product a 8.5/10. I love that it's portable and super accessible but the tip of the marker makes using it a little difficult. ... show more

ok so, the first time you buy these, it takes a minute and some effort to get them activated, just keep pressing down with the tip, but when it starts to flow its not as hard to press down to get more. they write on like anything, I used them on metal, glass, plastic, paper, wood, even rocks and shells, and it was flawless. very easy to layer but make sure the first coat is dry before you add another one, although it dries fast. it washes off skin with soap and water, but not off other surfaces unless you scratch it off. they are fine tipped, so it takes a while to fill in large shapes and areas but its possible. very nice for outlining and details, plus writing. These have great flow and work great on my wood projects, I epecially love the gold, the only thing is I wish the red was a tad darker it looks almost pink when used on harder surfaces and I wish there was a more christmasy green/evergreen color in the set, the pastel/neon green does make a nice grinch color though. ... show more

There are many types of markers on the market. As an artist, I didn't like having to shake the pen to get it to work. It's okay if you use them often, but they do tend to dry so you have to keep shaking and dabbing to get the paint to come out.
