    • Very sturdy
This 12" gooseneck clamp camera mount is very sturdy and rigid. The clamp can be attached to supports up to 2 1/2" and all the way down to 1/2" and is made of two parts held together by two sturdy screws, which have to be repositioned to attach to supports 1/2" to 1". The gooseneck itself is extremely strong and sturdy; it takes a significant amount of force to bend it, and it will not move or sag once it's been positioned. It ends with a ball joint that can be freely adjusted and securely tightened by its ring, and a quick-release screw mount like you find on most cameras: a small piece attaches to the bottom of the camera and then snaps into the mount platform. I purchased this product to mount my Vivitek Qumi LED projector to the headboard of my bed; I did not want a permanent mount which would have required drilling holes in the wall, but I needed something that was at the same time very sturdy, hard to move, but flexible and easy to adjust. I also did not want to spend a fortune. The Arkon delivered on all counts. It's very sturdy, and I would not hesitate to entrust it with my DSLR. Once you set it in place and tighten it, it won't move. My only regret is that I didn't find out about it sooner! Recommended. ... show more

This product was just what I was looking for to mount my mirrorless camera behind my monitor. I’ve tried several different adjustable arms, and none worked well – it was really hard to find an arm that could reliably hold the weight of a full-sized camera. This thing is STURDY. Zero concerns about my camera coming loose or unwanted arm flexing. If anything, be warned that adjusting the arm will take some serious effort, but completely worth it if you have nice gear at the end that you want locked in place. Not sure why it was so hard to find such a sturdy mounting arm; if this is in your budget and its length is adequate, this is the mounting arm to get. ... show more

I bought this in October 2016 to mount a Zoom H5 audio recorder to the tripod of my video camera as audio backup. As others have said, the arm is difficult to bend, but worked well for my application. Also, the pad on the clamp would fall off sometimes. Tonight, the arm broke - the arm is just a steel rod, and it looks like I bent and straightened it out one too many times (probably 70-100 times). Since this worked well for what I needed, I will likely order another one (and try not to bend it as much). ... show more

VERY STIFF BAR, but Plastic 1/8" mount part is Much Flimsier only for small cameras The bar barely bends like a piece of Military Grade road-ready material, and the clamp is Really Good. The problems are the plastic piece won't hold a larger stationary camcorder without it tilting to the floor, and the rubber clamp cover falls off all the time upon removal of clamp! Clamp is good, gooseneck is good Rubber clamp cover is not good Plastic Mount is not good unless you want it for a small GoPro mount on your vehicle. Or a slightly larger camera SLR style only in stationary circumstances. Conclusion: If the mounting end was built as well as the clamp bar and gooseneck, we'd have a true Winner! I give it a pass because it serves well in a music studio mounting small cameras behind the drums. ... show more

    • Simultaneously too stiff and too flimsy
This mount consists of primarily two parts, each with their own issue... First is the ball-head, which is incredibly flimsy. Even on it's max tightness, a slight touch from a hand will move the camera a lot from the initial position. I use a Lumix G7, which is one of the more light cameras out there, and even then the mount sometimes struggles to hold a position due to its weight. Second is the arm itself. The arm is literally a solid metal rod, making it INCREDIBLY difficult to bend into the shape you want. When you DO manage to get it into the shape you want, it will hold it very sturdily. But if you'll struggle to get to that point. I had to use all of my strength just to achieve some basic bends. This is a perfect example of the saying 'you get what you pay for'. This is a cheap product, and it's use shows it. The 'too-flimsy' ball head combined with the 'too-stiff' arm make this practically useless to me. ... show more

    • Exactly what it says, a VERY sturdy clamp!
Man this thing is so sturdy it's almost hard to adjust it. That's great because cameras are heavy these days. The clamp is a "C" clamp that can go on almost anything. I had a hard time getting it to clamp on some thinner surfaces (1" shelving, etc) so I just got an old paperback book and stacked it to make the surface area taller. Worked like a charm. I bought two of these and they are absolute beasts. 100% recommend for small form video editing in tight spaces (like my kitchen!) ... show more

    • Not Bendable as described...
Couldn't ship this back fast enough. The arm is the farthest thing from bendable. It is a stiff rod. If you can bend metal, you can bend this. Then the weight of a DSLR camera tilts the top ball part down. The cheap plastic can't be tightened enough to keep the camera straight. Worst item I've ever purchased on Amazon. ... show more
