Description

Our large Ivory Mystery Snail has dual benefits — it is an elegant aquarium decoration, and acts as a natural fish tank clearer! This invertebrate consumes uneaten fish food, plus it clears off aquarium glass, plants, and decorations. It also filters substrate to keep it the correct color. This peaceful snail grows up to 3 inches in diameter as an adult and is safe with any nonaggressive fish, shrimp, or plants (such as java moss, Amazon sword plant, etc.). Ivory White Mystery Snails' shells are a striking cream color. Their bodies are white with breathtaking iridescent markings. Compared to other freshwater snails, Mystery Snails are characteristically more active and playful and can often be found scaling aquarium walls, extending their antennae in search of food, and climbing up the aquarium pump to the water line to breathe in oxygen. Because of this, ensure the water line in your aquarium is low enough or keep a tank lid in place so your snail cannot escape. We often ship smaller sized (.25 to 1.5 inches) snails so you can enjoy them longer and watch them grow. A young Mystery Snail can double in size over the course of two weeks to months. NOTE: Contrary to what some websites state, Mystery Snails are NOT the same species as Apple Snails. Apple Snails are an illegal species to own in the United States. My little Ivory Mystery snail arrived 3 days sooner than the original estimate! They were shipped within hours of my order. Lightning fast! I really appreciate that since I've never ordered anything alive (besides plants) and was nervous. The snail came in the best recommended transport method for Mystery snails. In a fish bag wrapped loosely in a wet paper towel. Seller TheFrogHouseShop carefully wrapped the snails bag in brown paper in a solid box that was labeled for Temp sensitivity. All very responsible, and much appreciated. I just got my little juvenile snail acclimated! It's best to ship them as juvenile since they have a much easier time with it. They are perfect size, not too small and not too big. It will be really fun to watch my new friend grow! They arrived whole, and without any shell damage due to the responsible packing. They are alive, and already in my tank next to a mossball. It takes a bit for them to come out of their shell, and I'm so excited to see them acclimate to my tank! The media could not be loaded. Super happy! Came in like 2-3 days and let him sit in the bag in the tank for about 5-10 minutes dropped him in and he immediately was out of his shell and exploring!

Got three of these little guys late March, they came in very nice and secure packaging. After about 20 minutes of acclimating, they became very active and have been amazing additions to my 10 gallon tank! They grew very quickly and continue to be active! I ordered these early on in the year, where it gets very hot after the first few months. I recommend paying attention to how your climate will effect the delivery of these little guys, the suppliers can only prevent so much. The snails are also very hardy, they have survived 48 hours of living in a tub filled with bottled water, and bounced right back after being placed into their tank. Well it's is doing very well. Activity level is increasing every day as it figures out its new home. If you get a white one, don't expect it to be pure white like in the picture. Mine's shell is black at the beginning (when it was younger) and has turned more into a pale yellow. It's body/foot is also yellow not white like in the picture. But, its still a fun snail to watch. I wouldn't discriminate against him/her just because of the color of its shell :) So, I want to keep it. I just don't want anyone else to feel let down by the interesting little guy/gal. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Very cute juvenile snail. As close to Snow White as you can get. I like that this seller only sends you the one you ordered. Others send extra in case one dies but I didn’t want extra to overstock my tank. Very good little snail. I’m happy :)
