🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID is generally well reviewed, with buyers praising its high build quality, sleek design, and fingerprint recognition feature. Some users point out the convenience of the this feature for quickly logging in. However, a notable downside is the absence of a backlight feature for the keys.

Pros

  • 👍 Excellent build Quality
  • 👍 Light and portable design suitable for travel
  • 👍 Quiet and comfortable typing experience
  • 👍 Smooth and efficient Touch ID feature

Cons

  • 👎 Lack of backlighting for the keys
  • 👎 Bluetooth signal could be stronger for better wireless connectivity
  • 👎 Slightly overpriced as compared to other models

Should I Buy It?

If you're an active Mac user who values a secure and efficient login process through Touch ID, and don't mind the absence of backlighting, then the Apple Magic Keyboard would be a good investment for you. If, however, a backlit keyboard for easy night use or stronger wireless connectivity is critical for you, it may be better to consider another model.

  • Works great! Finger print works well!
Style: US English Color: Black Keys
Definitely great! Have my MacBookPro docked, and works really well. Of course, doesn’t work when the Mac is turned off. So it being plugged in works to turn it on. Battery life is great! Feels like an Apple Product nice and durable! Connects and is easy to use! Especially switching it to my iPad.

  • BEST KEYBOARD EVER! SILENT, SLEEK & FAST!
Style: US English Color: Black Keys
As a long-time Apple user who also has purchased tech/computer products from other brands, I always come back to Apple for their highest quality & efficient products. It is expensive but so worth the money. I had bought a cheaper typewriter USB keyboard and one of the letter stickers came off after a few months. I also was getting tired of the loud typewriter sound (yes, I go through phases on what I like/dislike). I currently use a Mac Mini Studio (as well as an iPhone and iPad) and this keyboard works perfectly! ... show more

  • A Needed Refresh
Style: US English Color: Black Keys
For a long time, Spple, and especially Steve Jobs didn’t think that their customers needed a keyboard with number keys. Especially a wireless keyboard with number keys. If you wanted that, you had to buy a keyboard and a separate keypad. Competitors stepped in to fill the void and Apple finally relented. This keyboard now has and integrated number pad. It’s also rechargeable, eliminating the need for a constant supply of AA batteries. One drawback is that it’s expensive like all Apple products. But still it’s a quality product. I’m glad I finally stepped up and bought mine. ... show more

  • Great keyboard
Style: US English Color: Black Keys
I bought this because I loved my MacBook keyboard so much and switched to an external monitor setup rather than just the laptop itself, it works great! Also wanted the numeric keyboard. I did have some lagging issues after about a week in, but that was resolved by plugging it into my MacBook and letting it be connected for about a day (could have been a low battery issue). Other than that, I have no complaints, I love the Touch ID on it because before, I was typing my password in every time because I put my Mac in clamshell mode. I do have to charge it more frequently than I thought but I really only have to every week and a half to two weeks, though I am out of school right now and am using it a lot less than I normally do during school time, so well see how long that time frame is once I start using it more. The only thing I would add would be a backlit keyboard, not a necessity, but something that would be nice for late at night, but my monitor lights up the keyboard enough to use it, would just be a nice feature to see. I will admit, I am biased because I love Apple products, I chose to buy this one for sixty bucks more (it was on sale) than a Logitech one simply because it was Apple and it also had the Touch ID. Ok, one other request, I wish it also charged via USB-C rather than Lightening because that would just make life a whole lot easier because I plan on keeping this for a while and everything lightening is going away because of the EU. But then again, I chose to buy it on a sale price rather than wait a couple months for them to release a new one. In conclusion, I truly do love this keyboard, but get it when it is on sale because even on the sale price, it is hard to justify. But the key point to this is that the only reason you should buy this over a Logitech one is because of that Touch ID, if you cannot use that or don't use it a bunch, don't buy it. ... show more

  • Love this keyboard
Style: US English Color: Black Keys
Very easy to use and works well with my MacBook Pro. Very versatile, and like the feel of the keyboard. I like the fact that it’s not bulky, but it’s very thin and works well with my fingers. I also like the touch ID. Well worth the investment, even though it is just a bit spendy.

  • Expensive but Amazing
Style: US English Color: White Keys
I honestly hesitated so much to buy this. It seemed nuts to pay this much for a keyboard. I looked everywhere for a fingerprint scanning keyboard but couldn’t find one. So I bit the bullet and ordered this one. My bank account felt it, but this keyboard is the highest quality keyboard I have ever seen! It’s smooth and flawless. The keys are so comfortable that I actually want to type all the time. The connection to my computer was seamless and not once has there been any issues connecting or any lag. It’s lightweight and solid. Comes with a cord to charge it but I’ve used it for weeks and the battery hasn’t dropped. If you type a lot or need a fingerprint scanner, this keyboard is the best. ... show more

  • Great Keyboard, but expensive.
Style: US English Color: Black Keys
First and foremost, I gotta say that this is a GREAT keyboard and has a premium feel and build quality!! Touch ID works great and is highly responsive. I knocked off one star for lack of backlighting. I think a $200 keyboard should be backlit by default, bottom line. A much better price would be $149.99!! Also, I want to address 99% of the negative reviews on this keyboard. If people took the time to research a product that they’re getting ready to pay $200 for, they’d save themselves some time in returns, headaches and unnecessary bad reviews. The product description CLEARLY states that this is for M1 MacBook Pros, not Intel-Based Macs and not guaranteed to work on Windows or Linux. Another bunch of bad reviews about bad serial numbers or not being able to register the keyboard baffle me as well as Apple has never had a system in place to “register” peripherals like Magic Mouse or Keyboards, they guarantee the peripherals for one year after date of purchase so all you need to do is store the box or take a pic of the serial number! There’s no need to register these products and there’s no way to do so. I hate to say this, but if u contacted apple because you couldn’t register the product online and they convinced you to buy directly from them, you’ve been duped!! Overall, like I said, this is a premium keyboard made specifically for M1 Macs and works perfectly. My only gripe, and that’s mostly cause I suck typing and need to look at the keyboard all the time, is that it’s not backlit and for $200 it should be!! ... show more

Very pleased. Easy to set up. Love the Touch ID log in finger print reader. Great for remembered passwords. The 10 key is great if you’re wanting that.
