This is more of a heads up for language learners like me, or people who use the key-long press accent functionality of mac keyboards (and mac Magic keyboards, such as those used with iMac/mini/Studio) to write in another language that uses accents. These iPad keyboards will not provide this functionality (iOS vs. OS coding?), so for example, a long press on the 'e' will not pull up the options for an accent grave (è) or accent aigu (é), but rather, multiple e's. I bought this keyboard with the idea of not having to carry my MacBook Pro when I travel since I already bring my iPad. Without this accent functionality, I can't write in another language without knowing the "manual" keystroke combinations. so it does not fully replace the basic tasks of using a mac laptop for me when traveling. As a result, I don't end up using it very much and it's going to charity since it's not eligible for trade credit at Apple. ... show more

Its easy to use for school as i traded my macbook for the ipad pro. I have been using it to fo all my homework, essays, assignments, etc, etc. My only flaw is how heavy it is. Its heavy ans i wanted something that wasn't so heavy but its ok. Another dlaw is theres no buttons to control the brightness, sound, etc but i can use the mouse or can use touch screen so not all bad. The quality itself is top notch- the materials used, the typing feel etc is unbeatable. I use my iPad as my personal laptop as well and this is where the Magic Keyboard comes real handy especially given how it takes up so little space and can really be useful for those who type with the iPad on the lap. A few kinks- not having a function key is a big one. I bought it knowing this didn’t have the function key row, but I find myself repeatedly search for the volume key, escape key ( although you can modify an existing key to be an esc key, we are habituated to looking for an esc key on the top left). The key board is great for little to moderate use. However, if you need to do a lot of typing etc know that it is a cramped keyboard and your fingers can feel the cramp - it is not uncommon to hit the bottom of the screen as you type.I however use it for my occasional use- one odd email, basic browsing etc for which this is perfect. I read all reviews that mentioned with this case on, the iPad is going to be heavy and I still under estimated how heavy it would get. For a portable device, this keyboard is indeed very heavy. The keyboard +case also does not provide any protection whatsoever at all to the sides of the iPad which is a big downer for this prize so be prepared to invest in an additional case which is an additional investment. The extra charging C type port( note this does not support data) is a big plus and the floating look is very stylish. Overall, I still love it for the looks, the premium fit and finish and the quality of the typing experience along with added C port. But I’d only rate it as good and not excellent because for the price it is sold, I’d expect it to not have a majority of the flaws mentioned above. Ive had several iPads and never had the keyboard. Recently I had shoulder surgery and couldn’t keep tapping and couldn’t move my arm so I bought this keyboard and love it! It’s full size but short so easy to use if you have or don’t have any injuries. I also like that it’s lighted.
