I teach arts and crafts to about a dozen neighborhood kids and I ALWAYS use Apple Barrel paints for that purpose. It’s economical and come in a wide range of colors. You really can’t go wrong if you just want some basic paints. I’ve also used them as a base paint for pouring snd they’ve always worked well. I love these paints. I use them on all sorts of wood decor projects and apply several coats of polyurethane after I have the painted design that I want. My highly ornate painted desktop has stood up to daily use for years now and I keep a ton of colors on hand.

It does not allow you to choose your colors, so you get what they send. I mostly received pastels. I would have preferred more primary colors, and I would have been able to mix them to make the colors I wanted. Otherwise, the paint quality if fine.
