The opening is probably about half an inch sometimes I put the paint in the lid with a small paintbrush if I’m not going to need too much. You do have to be careful as this pain will stain if it gets onto close. The bottle it’s easier to shake the paint up also. The lid twist on and off very easily. The color was what I was expecting. I’ve been purchasing Apple Barrel craft paint for years, and it works wonderfully on craft projects. This time, however, the tops on each of the 2-ounce bottles were wrapped with a tape to keep them from leaking. Not an unreasonable idea, but they went a bit overboard. They’ve never wrapped the tops of the bottles in the past, and I’ve never had a bottle leak, ever. The tape that they used was far too large for such a small bottle, and quite difficult to get off of the lid. It would have been far worse if I had ordered more as I’ve done before. Just an annoyance, and it won’t keep me from ordering again, but it’s worth mentioning to the company. ... show more

I used this to paint some rocks to keep squirrels and birds from eating my berries as they ripened. So far working as a great decoy and adds a pop of color when there isn't any berries hanging off. So happy with this color.
