  • NOC T2 Monitor || Just Arrived! (Australia - June 2021) || Update (<2 years) Build Quality issue
Size: 15.6 inch | Full HD Style: USB-C (DP-Alt) + micro HDMI Pattern Name: Monitor
This NOC T2 Monitor is connected to a Surface Pro 7 running Windows 10: on a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz - 1.50 GHz with 16 GB RAM. 1st day delivery: Works like a charm! I am an IT Student and lately. I've been staying at the library to do my programming projects. Seeing others at the library having a product similar to this at the beginning of this year and wishing I could bring an element from home to school, a second monitor would help ease the amount of tabs and inspection of my code. I decided to watch a few reviews and youtube's vids to see if this product was ok to invest my casual pocket money into. At the moment, I'll rate it 5 stars! It works, the color on the display seems alright to me, hearing that was a negative attribute to this device from my own research. The touch, volume and overall ability of the monitor works as intended. There are a few nuances I've noticed however: - If I wanted to change it to portrait mode, I had to manually change it in the settings of my laptop. I've also noticed the usbc port I initially plugged it into didn't work when I flipped the device. However there was a 2nd usbc port that catered to the portrait orientation. - It took me a while to notice that the cable that should have both usb-c ends was attached to a usb adapter which was funny, a smart design from NOC? I have to say. My first day impressions at the moment have been great and I'm overally satisfied with the quality. I'm looking forward with my new toy to study with back to uni in a few weeks time. Well done NOC. (I don't intend to use it for gaming, or picture perfect scenarios so this is why I gave it a 4 star as it still caters to my needs, however I'll most likely use those attributes on my own computer anyways. I hope this review helps you judge whether this product is right for you. I say its a great gift for an aspiring IT student who can't quite study outside as well as inside or vice versa! ------- 1 year > September Update: -- Summary: Build quality has made itself shown and after more than 1 year of usage (with the same computer specs above). It shouldn't be strained too much even with my conscious care. If carried in a shoulder strap laptop bag with other electronics and work station items. Will cause bends to the device unintended and could cause screen damage as its not as resilient as I might of hoped. The overall monitor still works as intended however. The device now has a bend by 2-3 degrees on one part of the device. The screen on "start up" shows brighter "effected spots" on its bend, however not noticeable once becoming active, a secondary display. It is a fragile product and should be kept separate on its own I feel. Or with less stress with less items in your laptop bag. Overall even now, I'm satisfied with the price I paid for it then (349.75 AUD) and its overall quality as of now. Does drain my laptop a bit but usually my laptop is connected to power in the library most of the time. perhaps it could last 2-3 hours of intense use before I need to plug in my laptop charger. However the price it is currently at the time of this writing, (480.19 AUD) knowing that damage to the product could escalate even with less than 2 years of usage may be something for you to be wary of. May not be worth it at its price point now and newer better generations of portable monitors may be around. Hence the 4 stars, potentially 3.5 star due to its price point and value. ... show more

  • I hope it lasts!
Size: 15.6 inch | Full HD Style: USB-C (DP-Alt) + micro HDMI Pattern Name: Monitor
Out of the box, it's dead. I mean so dead that I wasn't sure if it was broken or simply needed to charge. The instructions, other than saying it needed to charge for EIGHT hours were less than helpful. Well, it seems that when the power light is blinking white/amber, that means you need to charge it. At least that is what I am guessing because the instructions suck. I decided to order a replacement just in case because I needed the monitor the next day. Well, after 3 hours it turned on and after 4 hours, it was charged and the blinking had stopped. Build quality on this monitor is not impressive for a portable monitor. However, it seems, no matter the brand, they are all built the same. First, I can press on the screen and feel it flex. So, I highly recommend you not put any pressure on the screen, which is troubling when you consider this is a portable monitor. I had the HDMI and power cable plugged in and when I move the monitor, the mini side of the HDMI cable tapped the side of my computer, bent, and broke in one motion. Again, cheaply made. If you touch the cords where they are plugged into the monitor, you can feel how flimsy the port is. Again, not great when I will be working in the car sometimes. The monitor is a touchscreen and it does respond well to touches. I have not yet figured out how to get it to rotate. I tend to think my laptop does not support this feature. In the house, the monitor is bright enough for my use but I have not tried it in the car. The cover that is included does a great job as a stand, and I like that I do not have to carry a separate stand. I however, do not feel the cover will provide enough protection when i am on the road so I purchased a rugged cover for it. Overall, this monitor will do the job, just be aware that you will have to charge it when it arrives because it will likely be dead. Take special care to not bump the cables at the connection point or they might break. ... show more

  • Easy to carry 2nd monitor
Size: 15.6 inch | Full HD Style: USB-C (DP-Alt) + micro HDMI Pattern Name: Monitor
This is a great monitor to have while traveling. Helps with work when not at a desk with my 3 monitor setup. Touch screen capability is nice my laptop has the same and I am used to reaching out and flicking to scroll. The cable that is provided is USB C to USB C with an attached USB A adapter, which is useful for some older laptops that don't have a C port. The magnetic cover protects the screen while in my travel bag from scratches. It doubles as a stand, which is the only downside I have. I would prefer fold out kickstand from the back as when using the touch screen the magnetic stand collapses down on itself. The VERSA attachment point would make this a nice touch monitor at a desk setup. ... show more

  • HDMI works with Raspberry Pi 4
Size: 15.6 inch | Full HD Style: USB-C (DP-Alt) + micro HDMI Pattern Name: Monitor
I purchased this to replace an MBAC16 USB screen that did not work with my Raspberry Pi 4. This AOC 16T2, using the power adapter and the micro-HDMI output, works well with my Raspberry Pi 4 (without touch capability). I also tried the AOC 16T2 with an Acer windows laptop that had a USB C output: screen and touch input worked with Windows 10. The cover doubles as a stand and works well for both purposes. The controls and connections could be better: -There are 2 USB Cs on the T2. The one on the left is to charge or power the T2. The one on the right is for connecting to a device as a second display. -The control buttons on the left of the screen are 'single tap'. I do not see an 'up/down' option for the menus or choices like on other screens. Rather there is a single button that brings up the menu, and then, you press the same button until you are on an item to change like contrast, wait a few moments for it to be selected, and then press again to increase the selection until it starts over at 0 or reaches the level you want. Having said that, this has the features I wanted at a reasonable price (*I bought it used via Amazon). ... show more
