I have had two of these monitors for 2 years. I got it because I both work in development and game, so this had wonderful functionality for both. The only complaint I have with it, is the cable management or lack thereof. Beyond that, it performs wonderfully both for work and play. Pros Color reproduction is solid 5120x1440 is great in a work environment and gaming Solid refresh rate Good value Tons of connections Can have two systems connected and running side by side on one screen Cons No cable management. Purchased this monitor to use for work. I have it on a Vivo heavy duty monitor arm, and the result works really nicely if you take the time to tuck up all of the cables properly. Picture quality is just fine for work, as is the resolution and the high refresh rate. Previously I used two 4k 27" monitors and while the picture was better with them, it was just too many pixels for the computer to handle comfortably - my laptop fan would run constantly to try to hold it together. This looks a lot better than 1080p, but without the crazy pixel count of a few 4k monitors - a nice compromise. Workspace wise, it's about the same as two 27" monitors for width, but without the bezel in the middle you can use the space better. I can be on a Microsoft Teams call in the center of the monitor, and easily have e-mail open on one side and the thing I'm actually working on on the other side - meaning 3 work areas on the same screen. As others have mentioned, the UI of the monitor menu is poor, but it doesn't matter much once you get things set up right. The only REAL annoyance of the monitor to me are the speakers. They actually sound *ok*, but they are just too loud to start with, which is bizarre. The volume scale goes from 1 to 100, and I have my speakers set at volume of 1 - literally the quietest it will go and not be muted, and it's still relatively loud - I wish it could go quieter. That's not a dealbreaker in my mind, but it is bizarre that they have it set up so oddly. Overall though, as a work monitor I find it works fantastic - definitely glad I purchased it! ... show more

    • Nice features, some strange functionality hiccups.
Overall, what most people are saying seems to hold true. The monitor is VERY nice to look at and use, with a few hiccups and humps to work over. Pros: * Gorgeous display and good picture quality * Cheaper than next comparable options (with KVM!) * KVM for multiple systems (useful if you have a work computer and a personal computer) Cons: * The UI is unintuitive and kinda low featured * Some compatibilty issues (might be my machine) causing the KVM support to sometimes have a keyboard key get stuck * (and the most important one) THERE IS NO WAY TO REMAP THE KVM TO DISPLAY CONNECTIONS That last one needs a bit of elaborating on: I have my setup configured to have my personal machine on DVI 1 and my work machine on DVI 2. My personal machine has a USB C port (no display over it) while my work computer does not. So I hooked up the standard USB A connector to my work machine and the USB C one to my personal machine. The issue is, with USB set to "auto" in the settings, it maps the USB B+ USB A connector to ALL DVI and HDMI displays while USB C apparently will not be auto-mapped. This means that the AUTO setting is functionally useless. You can set it manually to USB C, but this means you'll need to do this every time you switch which device you're using. Ultimately, while that last issue is really disappointing (and I still need to figure out why my keys are getting stuck on my personal machine and not my work machine) I would still make this purchase again. It's very good bang for your buck and, overall, works really great (if not for the hiccups here and there). ... show more

I have to start by saying I'm a spoiled I.T. consultant. I live on computers and when it is one of my machines, I demand the best for my monitors. I do still game a little, so I wanted a monitor that could handle a game or two. However, I mainly use the monitor for work, and don't prefer dual monitors so like like the ultra-wide concept. I have been on 27" and 32" monitors for a long long time. I now own an LG 38" curved, and a Samsung 32" 4K curved. The LG is on a Mac Mini and the Samsung was on my old i7 custom Windows rig. I just upgraded to an AMD Threadripper custom rig and decided to upgrade my monitor too. I was not ever really happy with the Samsung 32" Curved 4K, so time for a new monitor! After hours and hours of research, reading reviews, etc... I initial bought a Lenovo 43" Legion ultra-wide curved monitor but in the end returned it. The Lenovo was impressive, a super nice monitor, but I am used to a taller (32") monitor. So going with a dual 24" equivalent just didn't cut it. I really wanted the new LG 38" but for $1600 to $1700, I didn't see the value. So I read more reviews, looked at more specs, and ended up buying the AOC Agon 49". (I like the AOC better and got it for the same price of the Lenovo on sale, so a better value too) So what do I have to say... well my initial comment is the AOC 49" monitor is nothing short of amazing. It has better specs than the Samsung (minus the new Odyssey G9s) and is $200 less. I have no dead pixels (and an awesome 4 year warranty against dead pixels). The monitor is big and bright. The resolution is great, I love the 5120x1440. Graphics, text, photos... it all looks good. I can't yet speak to gaming but I can only assume it is excellent based on the specs and what I have seen so far. I also can not speak to AOC's support, some say it is bad but per their comments I wonder... hum? And in reality, very little support is any good. My only con, and this is a preference, is the monitor stand, although adjustable up/down, does not raise the monitor high enough. That could just be me, I'm tall, but it was easily resolved by buying a monitor arm mount. So overall, if you're in the market for a 49" ultra-wide, regardless of your usage, you can't go wrong with the AOC Agon 49" monitor! ... show more
