I recently subscribed to a certain soap subscription service. One of the add on products for the service was a pricey wooden (branded) soap tray. Rather than buy that company's branded wooden soap tray, I searched Amazon for suitable inexpensive alternatives. This was the product I settled on. Here's some feedback: 1. I purchased the product from Amazon 2. The product was $6.49+tax (which is about 1/3 of the above mentioned soap subscriptions product) 3. The product comes in a darker wood (perhaps oak stain) 4. The wood comes with almost a smooth & glossy poly coat. I've seen no issues with getting it wet or getting soap on it (and subsequently cleaning it). 5. The dish drains well as it's a porous type construction. 6. The construction quality seems good, but it's a $6 soap dish, so my expectations were levelset. The dish is all wood and doesn't have any rubber stoppers or suctions to prevent slippage in the shower. For the usage it's a decent product that meets the intended need. No complaints! ... show more

The finish on the wood is leaching off onto the bar of soap. I don't know if it's the soap causing that, or if it's the cheap design of this holder, but it's gross regardless.

I love my silicon soap holder. It keeps my french soap from becoming mushy on the bottom making it last longer. It is super easy to clean, too. Just run it under warm water and it’s ready to use again. It has a bottom so it doesn’t make a mess of my sink. I love that for less than seven dollars you receive two. Fit into the built in corner shower shelfing in my shower/tub combo very well, no overhang and lay flat. makes cleaning the tub much easier since all i have to do is lift them up and rinse them off. they clean very easily by simply rinsing under running water. they are flexible but sturdy.

I had some other soap holders but the were not easy to clean and didn't drain. These wooden holders are cleverly designed to hold the soap, let it dry out and will be very easy to keep clean. I would highly recommend this product to my friends. I also like that they will biodegrade when disposed of (which won't be for a very long time)!!! ... show more

It is very nice looking, but when you put a wet bar of soap on it and try to take it off the next day, your soap bar is coated with the wood finish material.

Yeah it seems super great and cool looking in the beginning, but after a while it starts to fall apart. You'd think something like this would be able to withstand one shower a day with barely any moisture exposure... All I do is take the soap from this holder and put it back when I'm done.. I would look for something rubber or not made out of wood or maybe something built better.. ... show more

I never really use bar soap in the past. I've been a body wash person for years. But recently decided to switch to Dr Squatch soaps. And they being cold-pressed soap, they will not last sitting in a soap dish staying wet. They need to dry off so they last longer. This cedar tray works very well for that. The soap doesn't sit in a pool of lather and water, allowing it to dry faster. I can see it being beneficial for regular soap as well, but mainly I bought it for the cold-pressed. ... show more
