  • Nice and warm!
Size: X-Large Color: Black Women
I hate wearing bulky jackets in the winter so when I discovered heated jackets I wanted one! I ordered a size XL, I wear size 14-16 and XL shirts usually, and it fits fine. The battery lasts through several wears, I just about always use it on the hottest setting. I charge it if I notice it is below 25%. There is a digital readout on the battery which is helpful. I haven’t used the battery yet to charge a small device. One thing I like: the front pockets are roomy and well placed, with a fuzzy lining so they are great for warming hands. One thing I dislike: the battery in its inner pocket is right behind the left pocket, so you really feel it when you have your hands in your pockets. I wish the battery was either just above the pocket or further back towards the side seam so that it didn’t feel weird in the pocket. (The weight on one side of the coat hasn’t bothered me.) Also the power input to the battery isn’t a standard USB or something, it’s a round power input, so you can’t just use any battery pack with it. I had thought I would be able to use one of my phone sized battery packs as a backup but I can’t do that. The hood is big and stays up surprisingly well. This jacket is great for snow blowing and shoveling when it’s cold and windy (upstate NY for climate reference), and after working for a bit when you start to feel hot (if you shovel a lot you know what I mean!) you can turn it off to cool off a bit. Overall, a good jacket and the warmth is really nice. ... show more

  • As Expected!! Great Quality Too!!
Size: Medium Color: Black Men
I was introduced to heated jackets by a friend, and after some research, I decided to try Antartica Gear. The positive reviews and quality showcased in the photos convinced me to give it a shot, and I can confidently say I was not let down. The product arrived promptly, matched the description, and delivered on its promised functionality. The heating feature significantly enhances warmth during chilly winter days, whether I'm in the snow or cruising on my boat in 40-degree weather. The jacket passed the test admirably. While it doesn't eliminate the need for layers, it does provide an extra layer of insulation coupled with the advantage of actual heat generation. The battery life aligns with the specified duration, and although the battery pack charges somewhat slowly, it's more than sufficient for a full day, transitioning between High, Med, and Low settings as necessary. Overall, it's an excellent addition to winter gear. I liked it so much that I ordered another one for my father, who is also enjoying the benefits. For sizing reference, I'm 6ft, 185lbs, fairly slender, and opted for a Medium size, which fit perfectly. ... show more

  • Nothing but good things to say about this jacket!
Size: 3X-Large Color: Black Men
I've had a lot of trouble finding a GOOD heated vest or jacket online, but I'm thoroughly satisfied with this one from Antarctica Gear so I wanted to make sure buyers know that this is one of the good ones! Unlike every other heated jacket I've tried, this one actually runs true to size. I normally wear size 3XL and I have tried jackets that were 6XL which still were way too small to zip. This 3XL is a perfect 3XL, so I would assume the other sizes run true to size as well. Also, it's nice that it is a proper length too - it doesn't run too short like many others. See my review photo to see how it fits on my 6'3" tall 320lbs body. It's a nice all-around everyday thickness too. It's a lot more than just a wind breaker, but it's not puffy parka either. The outer shell is a nice heavy duty synthetic fabric with a nice texture that appears to be water resistant, but I'll have to wait for rainy season to see how it performs in that respect. The inner liner is a nice slick synthetic fabric that slides over other clothing with ease. The zippers are high quality YKK zippers, and unlike most heated jackets from China the zipper pull is on the correct side (right hand side). There are two internal pockets, one on the left for the battery pack and the jacket's cord, and nother on the right for a cell phone or iPod with a headphone cord port. This leaves the two outside pockets uncluttered so you can still put your hands inside. The heating elements all feel like they're in the correct locations for maximum effectiveness. The ones in front are right where your hands go in the pockets. The ones on the back seem large for maximum coverage. And the ones in the arms are a surprisingly nice addition. I didn't realize how nice they were to have until I used them. The heating elements seem to get nice and hot if needed, but 3 different power levels allow you to adjust your comfort to the conditions. Heated jackets and vests always work better when worn underneath an outer layer so that the heat gets trapped inside, but even without my outer layer of work PPE, this jacket retains its warmth well. Part of the reason why this jacket provides such good warmth is I think because it's designed to operate with its included 12 volt battery, instead of the usual 7.2 or 5 volt USB battery pack. The higher voltage gives the heaters more power to work with. The down side is that the jacket and battery pack use a proprietary bullet-style plug, but it also has a standard USB-A output at 5 volts for charging USB devices, and it has a USB-C input to recharge it. The battery pack is physically larger than any of my other USB battery packs, but the tradeoff is that it provides that 12 volt output along with a big 16,000 milliamp-hour capacity so it can run the heater all day long or recharge a phone several times on a single charge. Unfortunately its proprietary power connector means we can't just swap out another standard USB battery pack when needed, but its big capacity means that's most likely not a concern. Plus, it can always be charged back up on a lunch break, although completely recharging the battery from 0 to 100% will take 4-5 hours on a 3 amp charger. At least the digital power level display lets you know exactly what percentage power it has remaining, which is a lot more informative than a series of 3 or 4 LEDs like other power packs I own. To make sure it's reporting accurately, charge the pack to 100% and then completely discharge it to 0%. After charging it back to 100%, it will now accurately report its power level. See the attached photos for an idea of its size and features. As you can tell from my review, I'm truly pleased to have found a jacket that gets everything right. I expect for it to provide years of service in my outdoor work environment as a field supervisor. ... show more

  • Looks Amazing!
Size: Large Color: Black Men
Just got it today and it looks amazing. I use it for my security work since it came with the shoulder velcro for my patches. I can then take the patches off and be a cool looking civilian! It warms up almost instantly. Size fits to form. I am 5'9", 185 an a medium was too small. Ordered the large and it fits great with a little wiggle room. The battery takes hours to charge and I'm not sure how long it lasts. You can charge other devices with the battery pack, but not at the same time the jacket is on. Battery pack has a little weight to it. Did I mention that it looks great! Tons of pockets for whatever you have and it is very light weight, so no more carrying several layers with you in case the Colorado weather changes 10 times during the day--just switch this thing on and you've just added 5 layers of heat! It has 3 levels of heating and even the sleeves heat up which is why I bought this one. Others don't have heating elements in the sleeves---that's the part that gets cold! Not sure how durable the elements are but they have a 3 year warranty on the garment and a 1 year warranty on the battery. GO for it! ... show more
