I have a couple hundred feet of metal fencing that I would like to reinforce - it has sufficient space for a rabbit or groundhog to slip under and feast in our garden. This and similar fencing work well to fill that gap and prevent all but the most determined critter from getting in. Won't stop a mouse/vole/chipmunk but most anything else that can't climb. We use netting for them. The wire gauge is just a little lighter than some of the other fences I have, still can be tapped in if careful. Hitting a rock will immediately deform the tines. The major issue is that there is only one spot along each panel to connect to the adjacent panel, making it pretty easy to push through. Will need to use pull ties or some other connector to secure the panels. These panels (and similar) are pricey in small quantities - finding a 25 pack is a good deal per panel. ... show more

These are not the sturdiest things on the planet, but they fit what I needed. I already have a decorative wrought iron fence to keep the dogs out of the side yard, but wouldn't you know it, the skinny dog can still get through. I ziptied several of these panels to the existing fence to make the slots too narrow for my dog to fit through. If you were to push these into the ground, the panels would be short enough that most dogs could jump over it, but would be great for an outdoor guinea pig area, or to keep a tortoise contained or whatever. They only work in my situation because I have a bigger more sturdy fence to attach these to. I do have lots of panels left that I can use elsewhere as needed. ... show more

    • Effective Barrier; Not Perfect

This set of interlocking fencing is effective for keeping some animals out (or confined to) an area, but smaller ones like squirrels and chipmunks can still squeeze through. My problem has been raccoons which get into a fenced area and come up to my back door. I have pots of flowers and veggies around this area, which I want to keep protected. Anything I plant in the ground in this space is eaten by rabbits and groundhogs; if the extra fencing works, I would be very happy to have a garden next year. I have placed this fencing on the outside of an existing fence, as well as lattice panels, with hopes that the extra barrier will be effective. The panels seem quite sturdy and are easily connected. It's too soon to tell if they rust or perform as advertised, but so far, so good. ... show more

These are heavier duty than I was expecting, the metal wire is surprisingly thick. The gaps are about 1.75 inches, so it's not going to keep out small critters. For that, I recommend hardware cloth. Hardware cloth comes in rolls of about any length and height, and the holes are usually 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch. This kit is great if you're making a pen for a child or animal, protecting a bush or plant from animals, things like that. But for along a long fence line, hardware cloth is going to be much less expensive and will be better at keeping out smaller critters. Also realize these are not very tall, if used by itself, just about any animal is going to be able to climb out (except maybe turtles, who will be able to dig under). My final comment is that they didn't disclose what material this is. It's well coated, which is good, but that also means we can't see what's underneath. It's magnetic, so it's not aluminum, it's probably a low quality stainless steel. I question the materials for two reasons. First, I have seen reviews for similar items, who report rust after just a few months. Second, this is a generic import, and I've had other garden products from generic imported brands that didn't even last a season. So I am skeptical about the longevity of this. If you're doing a permanent installation, it wouldn't hurt to give the ground contact areas a quick coat of black spray paint. ... show more

These barrier fences came just as seller described with instructions if you need them. This seller has several length options, as in you can get 10, 20, or 27 of 1ft barrier section pieces. I ordered two(10ft and 20ft). They are solid, they don't bend and I didn't see any chipping or peeling in the coating on the wires/bars so they should stay rust free even with all this FL rain. Measurements are accurate. Very easy to install and you don't have to use them all together if you don't need to. Each 1ft section hooks into the next so you can easily use them between fence posts or leave a gap for a gate no worries. ... show more

Im using this fence barrier to fix the bottom of the fence line along my goat pen that my goats have managed to get up off the ground by rubbing along the fence line. These fence barriers were perfect to fix it as I could weave them through the fence itself before pounding them into a ground with a rubber mallet. They also held up well to my serious pounding trying to get them into the ground, so they are much sturdier than they look! I also like that they can be interlocked, making that much sturdier. And with 19 pieces total, I've fixed the hole and I've got extra panels to spare! So Ill be fixing other high spots along the fence now as well. Very happy with them! ... show more

    • Keep the dogs from escaping under the fence

I use these to keep the dogs from escaping through big gaps in the back yard fence. There are areas of the fence that have gaps underneath due to erosion or whatever. I installed this barrier fence sections in those areas. The kit comes with 10 sections. The wire gauge of the barrier is a good thickness and sections are easy to pound into the ground with a mallet without deforming. They link together to make the barrier more solid. So far it works well. I don't think the dogs have tried to dig anymore in the gap areas after seeing these barriers up. ... show more
