  • Great stuff for end cuts!
Size: 1 Quart
This stuff works great for end cuts of any kind of sealed wood or wood that has been sealed by your but you need to make a cut and don't want to re-do the whole thing. Just wipe/brush/smear this stuff on, let it dry and bingo it won't rot from that end. I like putting this stuff on old telephone poles and tree trunks and such that I seal and want to keep in good shape. Worth the price! ... show more

  • Great sealer!
Size: 1 Quart
Used this on live oak that I plan to make slabs out of next year. Really prevented the wood from further splitting. I only wish I had it sooner

  • Never knew this was needed
Size: 1 Quart
I decided to try my hand and build a deck. While doing research on building and what wood to use I came across this stuff to protect the ends. Made complete sense as end cuts are exposed and not really treated. Fantastic packaging. I went ahead and applied to one side. It goes on with a color of milkey white and dries clear leaving behind a waxey type seal. Works very well with a super easy clean up. ... show more

Glad to be able to purchase a smaller can. It's still more than I needed, a gallon would last me a lifetime.

  • Easy to apply
Size: 1 Quart
We had a huge dead pecan tree cut. We used some of the trunk for end tables and stools. We painted the ends with it to preserve it. It is water based so it was easy to clean. It seems to repel the rain and only a few ants have been seen on the trunk pieces. It will be interesting to see how it does in a year or so. ... show more

  • Try alternatives instead
Size: 1 Quart
I did a small experiment between this and Klingspor greenwood sealer ($20 for a gallon). After a couple months, none of the Klingspor coated logs have cracked, but many of the Anchorseal one have. So not only was the Klingspor much cheaper, but more effective. I will say that anchorseal seems to be absorbed better, but I'm dissapointed my wood cuts still cracked, whereas my klingspor woodcuts did not. ... show more

  • Anchorseal - very good stuff
Size: 1 Quart
This is simply the best sealer I've found for putting onto exposed wood end grain to prevent the wood from checking and splitting as it ages or is exposed to weather If you are a woodworker, and buy your wood at a mill, you know this as the waxy coating that is sometimes applied to the ends of special hardwood boards before they are seasoned. Anchorseal is an emulsion that penetrates and leaves what looks like a waxy paraffin coating where it was applied. It does darken the color of the end of the board, plus neither water nor any finish will ever stick well where the Anchorseal has been applied. So.... if the face of the board needs to be seen, carefully apply the sealer only to the very end of the board. I use it to the exposed ends of beams, the exposed ends of outdoor decks as the decking floor is laid, and for seasoning hardwood for cabinet work. Good stuff. roger L. ... show more
