This is a great accessory once you get it on. I put them on the back legs of the generic walker most people have. First take off the existing rubber "cane" tips which in itself can take some prying, pulling and twisting. The balls themselves come with three partial spoke-like cuts from a center point, which can be hard to see and locate at first because only a short part of the scored cut is all the way through the rubber base and these tennis balls are tough. At a minimum, you need a good pair of scissors to cut the scored lines to their full length. At that point you have three triangular flap-like cuts in the ball. If you try to push it on the leg with only those cuts, you will need to summon the gorilla in you to do it if you are able. It is much easier to make another cut in each of the triangular flaps (starting at the "free" tip of each of the three flaps) so that you end up with six smaller flaps. I would suggest: Don't make any of your cuts longer than the score-length on the ball if you have a generic "regular" walker to insure they will grip the leg when you get them on. At six flaps you only need to be at 25-50 percent gorilla strength for a moment. Of course, it'll depend on individual differences. I'm of "normal' strength. (The walker wasn't for me.) On the materials that came with the balls was a url link for a video on how to install the balls; however, the internet page that came up says they are still working on the video (as of the time of this review). My best guess is that when they started making the video, the reality of their current "cuts" and the effort needed became a front and center reality and, hopefully they are now retooling to make it easier. "Just slip them on and go," which is currently the description on the Amazon page, is advertising puffery at its finest. This was a one-person job for me, so I turned the walker upside down and braced one side against the kitchen counter (or any wall-like structure) so it wouldn't move away from me, and pushed the ball onto the leg of the walker. It goes on much easier with the six flaps in my experience. The tennis balls do the job very well (vs. the cane rubber tips) in terms of sliding much easier over all kinds of surfaces, as well as substantially reducing the noise, and I presume at least those reasons are why one sees them so often on walkers. I put the balls on my walker after knee surgery. After 2 weeks of using my walker, the balls were falling apart on the bottom. Won't last long.
