The gag going around is offering the worst looking elephant gift but this is the "surprise what's on the inside" gift or a "don't judge a book by its cover" type of gift. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, in the middle of sandwich, I placed one side of this card that states the value of the card but not the card itself, you don't want that one to be sticky and messy to read. And as people are white elephanting by stealing, and the person who is stuck with this gift must think it's a horribly joke to not have their sandwich stolen but in the end you try to have several people ask them if they're hungry or that they should take a bite and see what it tastes like...and when they come across a great value in a gift card for the total value of the white elephant value then see their and everyone's surprise reaction of what an amazing gift it actually is instead of judging what it was from the outside.
