We have lots of wine glasses from all of our favorite wineries, but more often than not we break them (which isn’t always a bad thing because it prompts us to go back to that winery and buy more LOL). What we needed were good sturdy wine glasses for the casual sunset afternoon glasses of wine that we’d have no problem breaking if the wind knocked it over or one of the puppies. We bought these because they were inexpensive but when we pulled them out of the box, we were surprised at how thick and sturdy they were….and yes one of the dogs knocked into our outdoor patio table and one of these dropped onto the chair then hit the floor and didn’t break! So yeah, worth it. These are the “we don’t have any guests coming over, let’s have a glass in the backyard” everyday glasses that we were hoping they could be. I read the reviews before I purchased. So, there were some people who were SHOCKED, SHOCKED to find out that wine glasses can break! Well, me and broken wine glasses go waaay back like a lazy boy. it has always been my fault. That being said, I have had some really thin wine glasses that I have broken by just trying to clean them. From the reviews I read, I thought I was going to get that variety. That kind of glass feels really light and delicate when you pick it up, does that mean that it's an expensive or a cheap glass? Really, I'm asking. If it was a wine bottle and it was really heavy and had a super deep punt, you'd know that was a pricey one. My Riedel glasses feel light and I know what I paid for them and for that reason I rarely use them. When I opened up the box of Amazon wine glasses and pulled out the first one, I thought, wow that's heavy we could make it through an entire night together and one of us could ride in the dishwasher none the worse for wear. If you want a large size and solid almost commercial feeling ( in a good way ) wine glass then smash buy it now ... show more

    • Good basic wine glasses
They are pretty sturdy, hold a decent pour, and stand up to washing in the dishwasher. Amazon basics items like this are exactly that - basic. Happy with my purchase. They are not delicate, but still look good and good for everyday use.

I like that these have some weight and I’m not scared to throw them in the dishwasher. Way more enjoyable than drinking out of crystal glasses worrying about chipping or breaking it. Nice shape, pretty large size which has lead to a few heavy pours.

The glasses are nice but length of the stems makes them prone to getting knocked over and broken. Should have realized they were longer.
