I ordered this the night I burned my finger on the stove cooking. I read the great reviews and this truly is a nice first aid item at a great price! It took the pain away and coated well over a burn blister bubble. Worked good with wearing a fabric bandaid. There is no protective “seal” keeping the ointment sanitary besides the cap itself as others mentioned, but it’s a nice thick ointment that coats and helps with burn pain and most of all prevents infection. Burns are common occurrences, so having some burn relief on hand is simply common sense. This Amazon product is very inexpensive, and is just what is needed for most burns. I worked on a hospital burn ward, so I appreciate having this ready to go, just in case. I could say I may never need it, but most likely I will. I hope you have a decent first aid kit that YOU put together, not something that comes with what someone thinks you may need. Stock it yourself, and be sure to add a tube of this ointment. When you suffer a burn, that's not the time you want to drive to a drugstore...and before going to an urgent care clinic or ER, you may be able to avoid those options by treating your burn yourself. ... show more

The stuff works all right. I bought it as a substitute for the packets of first aid burn cream that I used to have. I ran out of those and they said it was for burns. I don’t feel like it works quite as well so I might look into aloe vera instead, but it’s definitely a help.

So our 4 year old son was running next to our pellet stove and slightly bumped into the unit. Well as you can imagine even the split second his skin touched the unit there was a decent burn. I immediately applied triple antibiotic and cleaned the area etc but ordered this as well since it is for burns too. Got it in the mail the next day and applied twice a day under his wrap everyday and within a week he was completely healed up with ZERO scaring.
