    • Perfect - fast and easy
This item came days sooner than previously estimated which was great. The spring loaded pin was a little tight trying to insert into the shutter edging but I did not have to drill or enlarge the hole. The portion that spring loads into the slat worked perfectly. I gave only 4 stars for value only because at over $1 a piece they are a little pricey. So far works perfectly. Please note and be aware: these are spring loaded if one wishes to do a slat repair without taking the shutter apart these are the ones to choose. There are other shutter pins that aren't spring loaded and would be more difficult to install or fix. ... show more

My plantation shutters get sun every day. They original pins had dry rotted. I just took a pair of long nose pliers, popped the old ones out and put these in. I had my shutters fixed in minutes. I bought extras in case more break. Thank you, I have been bugging my husband for years to fix these shutters, had I known it was this easy I would have just ordered the pins and done! ... show more

    • Inexpensive fix for really expensive shutters!
These worked GREAT. We've had two slats on our plantation shutters hanging and broken for quite a while. These were a quick and easy fix. I did find that the holes on our frame were a little too small, so I used a 1/4" drill bit to open them up a little and drill a little deeper. INSTALLATION TIP: Make sure that if you have removed the slats completely that you put STAPLES IN FIRST, then use these pins to reinstall the slats. I had removed the staples, so getting them in after installing the pins was a challenge. ... show more

    • Easy and economical!
Our son's puppy had knocked two slats loose on the plantation shutters. I called several shutter repair places to get estimates for repair and was shocked to find out how much it would cost to have someone come out. After searching YouTube for videos on how to repair the slate, I ordered these pins. It took five minutes to get the first one installed and just a minute to fix the second one. Just what we needed! My wife and I just bought a home and some of the planks on the existing plantation shutters were broken. These fixed the problem with ease. It's just a little tricky getting them to fit into each side of the plank. I used a super thin knife to retract the spring on one side, and then released the spring once I had them lined up. Keeping the extras for any future accidents :) ... show more
