A great sock at a great price. Like any Merino wool sock the durability can't match synthetics and this applies to these, Bombas or any other brand. I got the three pair pack and wore them out in a year but only because for three seasons of last year I had no other socks on my feet!!! So my wife bought me nine pairs for Christmas! I am an outdoorsman and these make any boot fit better and feel better on the foot. Especially knee high rubber boots, waders and so forth. These Alvada Merino Wool Hiking Socks -Thermal -Warm Crew Winter Boot Socks for Men & Women- are totally excellent socks that are extremely comfortable in any boot or everyday shoes that I have worn them in. These are now my everyday wear socks, and I bought enough of these to put all my other socks into a bag for storage! These socks seem to be moisture wicking and my feet do not get sweaty or hot at any time during wearing them- climbing, walking or lounging. I'm in the country and let my dogs out and keep an eye out for coyotes and I'm in a hurry to let the dogs out and don't put shoes on, I've been standing on the cold concrete porch in 20 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes without shoes & my feet bever got cold, I was standing on the porch & didn't realize a small part of the porch & that I was unintentionally standing on it/ snow, again my feet never got cold, they did get damp of course later, wearing another brand my feet would get could almost instantly. I'm not recommending going out wearing these socks in the snow without shoes on, this isn't normally how I test a product either, it was happenstance how I found out just how warm they are, they are soft, I have sensitive skin, and they aren't itchy, and I don't feel like putting shoes on every time that I get up to walk across our hardwood floors then I don't have to, they have held up well for me & I may buy more for spares. ... show more

OK, they are just socks but I think they live up to their advertising hype. They are comfortable. At my age putting on socks is difficult. These go on fairly easily yet stay up well during the day. They are a little thicker than my usual socks and therefore my shoes fit more snugly. Not a bad thing, just a difference in how they feel. I think they are warmer than other socks but I have no way of measuring that. I think they feel warmer. They did not come with any laundry instructions but, if they have the per cent of wool as advertised, I assume they need special care. I am surprised at how warm these socks are in cold winter weather. I say surprised because they are a bit warmer than some good quality much thicker socks I have bought from reputable outfitters. They allow fitting and walking comfortably in hiking boots that super thick socks, like my other winter hiking socks, don't allow comfortable room for. Plus they feel soft against the skin. These are very nice. Slip resistance is good. Size is good. Stretching is good. Easy to put on the material quality is great cushion is great and the most important thing. It keeps your feet very warm.

These socks are soft and thick. They tell you to run them through the dryer before you wear them the first time to fluff them up. But once you do that, they come out very nice. They really are meant for boots or looser shoes. They may be too thick to wear with regular shoes or sneakers.
