  • Fantastic
Style: Pro Camera Strap
I love this camera strap. I am only an amateur photographer and only use my camera and only occasionally use my camera. I was looking for something that didn't constantly occupy my hand like my wrist strap and didn't put constant pressure on my neck like my neck strap. Also, I hate the way my neck strap hangs in front right on the way and causes swing when I walk so it still forces me to occupy my hands. This quick release strap is great. It stays on my side and is readily available. The strap sitting on my shoulder eliminates the feel of any of the weight. It has a very thick pad making it very comfortable and the zipper compartment is big enough for multiple batteries (I keep 2 in it) a few memory cards and still room for some other very small things, like lens clothes and other items. For only $20 this is the best thing I have purchased for my photography in a very long time. ... show more

  • GREAT PRODUCT
Style: Camera Strap
It has been said that the harness moves around on the strap and never stays in place. That may have been the case when they first came out with this product but since then this harness has been sewn to the strap to keep it from slipping. As for the screw coming loose, the one attached to where the tripod goes I find the BEST way, for me at least, is to affix the metal plate so that when you are carrying the camera at your side this plate is oriented in line with the strap (straight up and down). When I say in-line I mean that the plate is pointing upwards in the same direction were it meets the hook. I find the strap to be a very comfortable fit and it is adustable to suit one's height. I am 5'5" and it works fine for me. As for the equipment I have. I carry a Sony A7RII with a Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM lens. I find that the strap holds up rather nicely to it with no problems whatsoever. The plate could be attached to the tripod; however, it is somewhat cumbersome when hooking the camera up to a tripod unless you remove the strap first. When it comes to the safety strap I hook it to the camera itself rather than hooking it to the plate. That's just my preference just in case the screw on the plate does come off or the screw holding the the hook to the strap breaks this way the body of my camera will catch the camera keeping it from falling to the ground. It will work if you hook the safety strap to the plate itself but I feel safer hooking it to the camera body since I feel that, that is more trustworthy. My kit only came with one tether safety strap. As for the zipper compartment I find that a plus because with my camera I have to carry several back up batteries with me because Sony A7RII is not known for its battery life and rather than carry them in my pocket the strap makes a nice place for this. Also, because I have this zipper compartment I find that I do not need to carry a camera bag around with me since I keep the camera slug over my shoulder throughout all the time I am or am not taking photos. For the price you can't go wrong with this camera strap setup. I'm sure it has some flaws but I have yet to find anything that is terribly wrong for the price. In time I'm sure things will start going bump in the night but that is the same with anything you buy. If you want something to last considerably longer then you're going to pay for it but for the price of this strap it is worth taking the chance on it and, in my case, it has worked out thus far. One last thing. I find this strap my better than the sony strap that came with the camera. It not only makes taking picutres more enjoyable but feel more comfortable when carrying your camera/lens around all day taking pictures. I LOVE THIS STRAP. Like some of the others I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you. ... show more

  • Almost a perfect sling strap for me
Style: Pro Camera Strap
I have used sling straps for a long time with my Nikon Z7 and now Z8 cameras. I love them but did not like the way they slip off my shoulder after taking a shot. So I decided to get one with the under arm support strap. What I liked; This Altura strap pretty much checked all my boxes. It has a nice wide padded and grippy shoulder support, the under arm strap, and has a big zipper pouch for my spare batteries and memory cards. And it stays on my shoulder, which was my biggest concern. What I disliked; I do not like their mounting plate. I had one before and it is just too big and clunky for me. It may be fine for some people, but after reading some other reviews and seeing where people had trouble with it coming off while in use, I would make sure I used some loc-tight on the screw to keep it in place. I would also add a tether safety strap, which will keep the camera from falling to the ground if the mounting bracket breaks or comes unscrewed. I was surprised they did not include one with this strap. Other Altura straps have one. I think they are absolutely a requirement, especially if your rig is worth thousands of dollars. I included a photo showing the add-on mounting screw I use and the tether safety strap. Many sling straps come with these but they are also available on Amazon as stand alone items. This sling strap SHOULD have at least the safety tether strap. All in all, this is a great, but not perfect, sling strap. So, 4 stars. I've been using it for a while and it works fine. ... show more

  • Great product!
Style: Camera Strap
Bought this almost 4.5 years ago for my Canon 80D and now my R7. I basically put it through a torture test: swamps and muddy wetlands; dry, dusty savannas; beaches and salt water; blizzards, tropical storms, and Nor'Easters; bumpy roads that tossed the camera (and therefore the strap on my shoulder) around. I have to buy a new one, but only because the metal ring almost wore itself through the clamp due to overuse (the good kind of overuse). It has a nice compartment to keep extra SD cards (helped on my recent safari trip so I didnt have to dig through my bag). It hangs directly at my hip and makes it easy to grab when some animal pokes it's head up. ... show more
