  • All perfect and healthy
Opening the box (undamaged) I found beautiful, healthy, and a well loved for variety of plants. A few doubles but that the beauty of the surprise box of 12, picking the best and healthiest for their customers. I got two spider plants and two zz plants but the rest was a wide variety of awesomeness.

  • Amazing!
They arrived much quicker than I expected. All the plants look extremely healthy, although, there is one that was super moist and looks like early signs of root rot, but I'm hoping that I caught it before it gets bad. None of them were labeled, but we have the internet for that. Every single plant was different (or at least different colors/variations of the same plant) which I am extremely happy about! I'm very pleased with this purchase! Great price, great quality! ... show more

  • Good for the price but could be better
I got this set of plants because I recently had to move across the country and was unable to bring my plants with me. This seemed like a good, and inexpensive way to restart a new collection. In this set of plants I received 2 Hawaiian pothos, 1 silver satin pothos, 1 marble queen pothos, 1 variegated spider plant, 1 burgundy wandering jew, 1 variegated peperomia, 2 butterfly arrowhead plants, and 1 of some sort of red angel wing begonia. The begonia was not labeled, I just happened to already know what it was, though I am not sure I will be able to nail down the exact sort of angle wing begonia. All of the plants looked very nice while still in the plastic. I was happy enough with the variety of plants I received, although I would have been happier if there had not been any repeats. All the plants were also a little bigger than I was expecting which was nice. When I repotted all the plants I discovered a few things. Each pothos plant had three rooted cuttings inside its pot. The silver satin pothos cutting had not been put into the pot very long ago at all, none of them had very much root, the smallest root was only about an inch long. This isn't a huge deal because it is so easy to grow pothos, but it means the plant will probably have slower growth to begin with than the ones that were better rooted. The soil in that pot was so wet it was like mud. The other pothos plants were better rooted but it was still easy to separate out the roots from the three cuttings in each pot. One of the Hawaiian pothos plants was extremely dry. The remaining two pothos were pretty wet. Several of the other plants also had very wet soil. One of the arrowhead plants had very nice roots, but the other was suffering from mild root rot. The spider plants was very wet and it's roots were a bit mushy, I wouldn't say root rot yet, but if I had left it in the pot instead of immediately repotting it, it quickly would have gotten to that point. The wandering Jew has very nice color to it which I am pleased with. But it was also overly wet. The begonia on the other hand was excessively dry. The peperomia was the only plant that seemed to have an appropriate amount of moisture in the soil. None of the plants seem to have any pests as far as I can see. Despite the moisture issues, I am confident that all of the plants will survive, even the one with mild root rot. I will update if something changes and a plant ends up dying. Overall I am satisfied. If I ever am in similar circumstances I would be happy to buy this again. However, if you decide to purchase these I would plan to repot everything immediately upon receiving the plants in order to give them all the best chance to thrive. Leaving them such overly wet pots for very long would likely kill some of the plants. ... show more

  • Plants did great, and the customer service is fantastic!
I ordered these plants for our son who is a plant afficianado! He loved them!!! They were beautiful and much bigger than we expected. As can be expected, 2 of them looked a bit rough, not dead but rough. To be honest, shipping plants is tricky, and if you know plants, you know they can be finicky. I called the company to let them know. They were awesome! Their customer service was outstanding!!! They were more than accommodating, and they made us more than whole. Thank you so much!!! We will be ordering again and sharing our story with everyone. ... show more

  • 60-75% success rate
Update: I knocked this down a star due to the amount that died. However, customer service was responsive and stated they would send replacement. For folks who get drenched plants like I did- just repot them. I usually wait a little for them to acclimate but root rot was rampant. I’m going to write this review backwards. Takeaway: Nice for newer plant owners, but not worth it for seasoned plant parents. Pros: Packaging (nursery pots/holder, bamboo support, protective plastic), shipping time Neutrals: Soil, variety, quality/health, information provided Cons: Success rate, size, rarity, repetition Here comes the wordy part. I say this is better for newer plant owners because you get a *decent* variety to try out in your home (not all plants thrive in mine). Many of these plants are easily propagated as well, so they might be “savable” if you notice things turning south. I didn’t put value in the pros/cons list because I think it’s a good value for trying a plant out (especially the fast growers like wandering dudes, ivy, pothos, etc.) However, you can get a better value for like $1-$2 more (per plant) from buying a small plant from a place like Lowe’s that is established and much fuller, plus more options. I think it’s a bit obvious why this isn’t really meant for seasoned plant owners & other reviews mention it as well. Pretty common plants, only barely out of the cutting with roots phase for most, you don’t get to choose, and some don’t live or are DOA. Likely more reasons, but I personally bought these to gift more so than keep so I wasn’t expecting more than meets the eye. I purchased three of the 12pk with expectation that there would be repetition between the three packs of 12 (fuller plants for the gifts lol). Unfortunately, some plants occurred more frequent within the 12 pack itself. This isn’t a huge issue but 12 different plants (not just color variations) would be a lot nicer than duplicate plants. I understand with seasons it’s probably hard *not* to duplicate but I’m sure the reason many people buy 12 different plants is so they have .. 12 different plants. I was neutral on the soil because it seems okay as soil but it came drenched. I’m sure there’s a reason behind that but idk it gives me root rot fears. Especially because nearly all the leaves of the plants felt limp. My poor dieffenbachia’s (I’m assuming) came looking like cooked spinach lol. That is another thing. I think instead of linking the Greg app (which I used even before this and like it) there should be a menu of sorts with names and pictures at the bare minimum. Greg can be waaay off sometimes and it had no idea what my spinachbachia was due to the condition it’s in. This can set a new plant owner up for failure if they have no idea what it is they’re caring for. I mention size as a con only because some plants were quite leggy/bare/single. Just would expect a liiitle more. One last thing; the box I received had one tiny heat pack. I don’t know how heat packs work but that felt insufficient for below freezing weather, though I could be wrong! OH! Sorry, one more thing. Some of these plants are DRAMATIC like the nerve plant and the waffle plant .. they’ll look like they’re on deaths door if it’s slightly too dry *rolls eyes* but I only know that as someone who has owned these .. my mind keeps going to “breeds” of plants lol I can’t think of the word. Anyway, that might also set a newbie up for failure. I don’t want to be all negative, though. A majority of the plants I received seem to be in good health, minor damage from transport, great packaging on each plant, minimal duplication (nerve plants were my dupes), and I love the little nursery pots/tray they come with for my own propagation once these are repotted. I also enjoy that some of these plants I actually don’t have in my own collection, which is really nice. ... show more
