We've tried three potion sets and this is the best one by far. Special details like glitter, leaves, flowers, water dye, butterflies, beads, potion bottles with labels, and a cute potion recipe book. There was much more attention to detail and 'magic' details in this set that weren't in the others. The kids played independently for a couple of hours and had fun creating their own potions once they'd made the ones in the recipe book. It’s tough keeping my 8yo engaged and entertained. The Fairy Magic Potions kept her entranced from the moment she saw the box. She was happily busy with it for some time. Many small parts- not recommended for kids who don’t know to not put things in their mouths.

Wow! My 7 year old has been enjoying this kit so much! She is always making "potions" outside or in the kitchen so this is right up her alley. I LOVE that the instructions are illustrated so even non-readers could be totally self-sifficient! The bottles, mixes, and labels are so pretty. We sealed our bottles with glue and then decorative wax. I will definitely buy again ... show more

    • FUN potion kit!! (Although the picture inside the storage box is of 2 girl "witches," not fairies.)
I got this "fairy potion" kit for my 8-year old son & I to do together since we had gotten a different one before & we had a lot of fun with it!! This one is even better than the last one we used! (Some of his video games use "potions" & he'll pretend to use "magic potions" at home while he's pretend-playing, so I thought "potion kits" like this one would be fun for us to create "magic potions" together & he really enjoys doing it, so it isn't just an activity for girls to do!) My son enjoys making arts & crafts (just like any other kid) & I think these "potion" kits are just as fun for young boys as they are for girls! :) My son enjoys pretending the potions are "magic potions" like in his video games, so they don't have to be strictly called just "fairy" potions! This set was particularly cool that it came with crystals since my son & I both enjoy crystals, & the 2 "unicorn horns" were neat, & the "ivy" ribbon for tying around the potion jars was a nice touch, & there was a good variety of a lot of different colors/types of glitter~more so than the previous "fairy kit" we've used. I like how both kits came with a variety of bottles as well~of different shapes & sizes. And the glitter tubes in this kit were easier to open than our other kit, & this set conveniently included 2 funnels instead of just one, so 2 children can be making their potions at the same time & not having to "share" just 1 funnel! The inside picture of the "potion storage box" in this kit is of 2 "witch" girls stirring a cauldron, so to me this is more like a "magic potion" kit than a "fairy potion" kit, which makes it great for Halloween! We made these potions while sitting on our hardwood floor & I put down newspaper underneath of everything while we were making the potions, which cut back on the amount of glitter that got everywhere lol. And it was an easy cleanup of the stray bits of glitter on the hardwood floor with just a few wet paper towels. :) So it doesn't have to be "too messy" if you don't do this activity on carpeting & either use a large table with a plastic tablecloth or newspaper laid down, or do it on hard/flat flooring. :) I think these potion kits are a lot of fun & it isn't a bad idea to get more than 1 of them to use together if you have multiple children doing this activity together & want to have more bottles & more variety of items to put into the potions...& then each child can have their own potion "storage" box to keep as well. We didn't put any liquids into our potions just in case if someday one/some of the tops accidentally pop out & I didn't want any liquid spilling out somewhere random in our home. The potions still look cute & cool without using any liquids in them! I give these fairy potion kit activities 2 BIG thumbs up!! They're a really fun, cute, & unique idea!! :) ... show more

The main things of note that are included are plastic vials of different shapes. Rubber stoppers. Various knickknacks, stirring sticks, and string. A large amount of glitter of various sizes. Plastic beads and plastic "crystals". A bag of bits of real tiger's eye stone. A bag of bits of real rose quartz. Three bottles of coloring ink. Various other bits and bobs as pictured. The manual itself is just a list of some suggested combinations. This is a fun afternoon of creativity and fantasy crafting. BUT! I just want to raise the obvious that liquid dye + water + glitter = a disaster that can haunt your year. I will be experimenting with sealing these rubber stoppers with a glue gun. Due to how flexible the stoppers are I can already tell superglue isn't going to cut it. It's not that the stoppers don't do their job, I'd just prefer the extra insurance. ... show more
