  • Great tool for the price.
I had a great experience with this hone. It's not super-high quality but it's well enough built for the price. I do pwc repair professionally; the cylinder I used it on was an 82mm 2 stroke and this hone worked perfectly. It had plenty of outward pressure and the stones are long enough to cover the exhaust and transfer ports so the edges don't catch. A lot of people said the stones broke when they used this hone so I was careful and I had absolutely no trouble. Looking forward to many more uses. ... show more

  • Good addition to my tool set.
Worked fine for my 283 Chevy small block rebuild. I got extra stones, ended up not needing them, but for the price, got em if I ever do. Took out the minor imperfections on the cylinder bores and set a good surface for the new rings. Easy to use. Keep you rpm's down and keep oiled, I figure I was running +/- 600 rpm max. Good addition to my tool set. ... show more

  • Used for honing cylinders on 351w
I used this for a Ford V8 engine. I plan on installing simple cast iron rings, which require a rougher grit honing. This tool is perfect for that. If you are planning to install moly rings, this is not the tool for you. You will need something finer grit. Word of caution... you have to be very careful not to stick it too far into the engine or it will come out into the block where the stones will hit the engine casting and chip or break. They are easy to chip or break this way. Just be sure to get a good feel for the depth, speed, etc. and it will work great. Anyhow, the tool is pretty sturdy. It works like it should. After a short test run I found the right settings to get a perfect 30 degree cross-hatch on my engine cylinder bores. ... show more

  • Perfect pricing, and gets the job done.
Used to deglaze and hone the cylinders of a PWC I am rebuilding. Worked flawlessly and was easy to use just like other hones I have used in the past. Typically I have used ball type hones but my specific application didn't warrant it so this product met the needs and worked as it should. The adjustable tension is nice to control just how much pressure to put on the cylinder walls. ... show more

  • Good basic cylinder hone
Used to remove glaze from an old Briggs and Stratton cylinder. Easy to use, adjustment is simple and did a good job. Stones do seem to wear fairly quickly, but for the price I'm not complaining. New rings appear to have seated good and engine has quit burning oil. A good basic hone.
