The bed came well packaged with clear instructions. The box is heavy but I managed to get it up two flights of stairs with some patience. I'd recommend two people ideally, but I managed bearhugging it step by step I received all the parts and the two tools required. My greatest concern was the air jacks, as there were other reviews that had problems with them. Mine work as expected. Assembly took a couple hours, but it looks great. It’s exactly pictured and as described. It’s very sturdy and easy to assemble. No more dog toys rolling under neath. I really like the idea of having the mattress be lifted to store and hid stuff underneath without having them visible. You really maximize store space with this design. Not only that, ease of cleaning under the bed via mop or vacuum without removing the mattress and box spring!! Now why minus 1 star - the hydraulics that allows you to lift the mattress are very hard to open and close. When I first installed them I couldn’t close it down. I thought maybe I had bad parts because it was so stiff. Luckily, I read a reviewer said that you have to pull down very hard to close it. After the first use it was a little easier. To mentally prepare you, it really felt like I had to pull down all my weight before it started to move and compress down (100+ lbs). Lifting with the king size mattress on felt like trying to lift a 100 lbs weight barbell too. But once the hydraulics are in motion it’s opens up smoothly and that goes same as closing. The upside: it doesn’t slam up or down on you. It definitely gives you a peace of mind that once it’s up, it stays up, and when it’s down, it stays down. I wouldn’t recommend this bed frame to elderlies or if you have a disability that prevents you lifting heavy objects; that is you’re looking to use the under bed storage featured design because of how much strength is needed to open/close it.
