  • i do cardio 6 days a week, and these shoes can handle that kind if activity
Size: 12.5 Color: Natural Black, Hazy Indigo (Swift Grey S...
Jogging and footwerk dancing is something i mix up to equal 6 days a week cardiovascular activity. I like to start and continue without stopping, rather than bursts of activity. I therefore rework the Chicago based dancing to be able to keep it going for an hr while the jogging is just a straight hour. That kind of activity required a shoe that can handle consistency. Even after just two weeks the shoes i wear will begin to show signs of being worn down. Over the past ten years, i have been totally consistent without ever messing up my routine. My feet have thankfully remained free of permanent injuries, though as i enter my forties i have noticed soreness rather than a reduction of performance. I will take that any day with the understanding that the shoes i wear are becoming ever increasingly important if i want to be able to keep engaging in jogging and this hyper active dancing. One of the athletic gear artforms is being able to locate a shoe that gives my feet both the support i need for outdoor jogging while at the same time not being to bulky. I often end up with a shoe that seemed great visually and of high quality material only to have it weight down my feet and strain my ankles. I have large feet that take a 12.5 to 13 size athletic shoes so my feet can react disagreeably to bulky shoes. I am naturally super excited to say that this pair of jogging/running shoes from the Allbird brand has mastered the outdoor shoe design. I am not saying this shoe is meant for outdoor running or jogging; but for my personal y preferences that i have gathered over ten years tis shoe is a total winner. The bulkiness near the back section was what i took a gamble with and have been pleasantly surprised. I have never seen or worn a shoe that has this amount of protruding bulk yet stays light weight so my feet do not suffer later on or when i am ascending a hill. I jog outside but mainly stay within smooth ground. I do incorporate hills so as to work different parts of the leg muscles. These shoes give me that extra cushion support when i am traveling up and then even down a hill. I include the downward journey because you have to be careful to not go to fast downward, and need reliable brakes cushion within the shoe like these have. These give my feet the right amount of air circulation within the shoe. The price is a bit high but is rendered justified once you wear them. I have waited longer than usual with this review so i could take time to wear these and break them in before publishing my opinions about it. wanted to make sure i have given an honest and accurate description of my experience with them. I am giving these five stars because they are easily the best jogging shoes i have worn in a while and i mandatorily go through shoes rapidly due to the demands of my workout schedule. I for sure recommend these as well as the Allbirds brand in general. ... show more

  • Not for the narrow footed
Size: 11 Color: Natural Black, Hazy Indigo (Swift Grey S...
I have wide feed. My brother has wide feet. Everyone in my family has wide feet. If you have wide feet (primarily the toe box) you should avoid this set of shoes. All Birds run narrow and make sure you try them on before you buy them. Comfort: Width aside, these are pretty comfortable. It has a thick sole for absorption of shock and the material is very light weight and flexible. It's not as comfortable as fly knits or ultra boosts, but it is very comfy still. Value: I'm sorry but $160 for shoes is a little crazy. All Birds does make great products and it's environmentally better, so I'd say it's worth the extra money, just make sure it fits perfectly. ... show more

  • Surprisingly comfortable
Size: 10.5 Color: Natural Black (Blizzard Sole)
I ordered these, and was a bit skeptical of how they would feel. The look of the shoes themselves in the pictures did grab me right away either, but after wearing them at work for a couple days, I have got to say that they are very comfortable. The look grows on you I guess. The weird thing is that the soles aren't rounded, they have angles everywhere like a cyber truck or a stealth fighter. I joke that they are designed that way to absorb any radar reflection so I can remain undetected. So anyway, the manufacturer recommends a half size up because they fit snugly. I feel like I am in between a 10 and a 10.5 so I went with a 10.5. The fit is snug, but not over snug. These actually fit snugly around your ankle which I have never had a shoe do that before. I thought my feet would ache by the end of the day like if you tie your shoes too tightly, but they did not. The sole absorbs so much shock from walking that it actually relieved some of my back pain that I experience from standing too long. I'm going to keep wearing these and hope that my experience remains positive. ... show more

  • Comfy and supportive
Size: 10.5 Color: Natural Black, Hazy Indigo (Swift Grey S...
I have pretty specific needs when it comes to shoes (specifically running/walking). Something usually seems off and that is why I have ended up with 2 or 3 go to shoes that I get over and over. When the opportunity to try Allbirds through the Vine program came up, I jumped at the chance. The shoes have had a lot of press and I wasn't aware they were having such a moment. Now I understand why. They are extremely comfortable and hold up well to a long day of hiking, walking, errands etc. I usually wear a wide shoe and these are described as "snug fitting" so I was worried. They ARE a little narrow for me, but the give in the uppers and the support makes this a non-issue. I love the feel and the support and have grown to really embrace the slightly off-beat look of this shoe. ... show more

  • If you can get on sale go for it
Size: 13 Color: Natural Black (Blizzard Sole)
When I got these and felt the box after it was delivered I was thinking no way these light shoes are worth the $160 tag at time of my review. After using them I’m still not completely convinced they are. I have a very similar pair of shoes from another off brand company for about a third of the price. There are some differences with these that make them better for sure. The sole most importantly is a lot more sturdy and does offer true support. They accepted my custom insoles as well, which is a huge relief for me. They are very lightweight and that’s for better or for worse. For running I’d be comfortable wearing these but not for any type of cutting or quick agility activity. The style is pretty nice and the materials all seem to be slightly better quality than my other shoes. Time will tell how long they last. There are minor flaws from the factory like glue showing or slight misalignment at attachment points. The only thing design wise I don’t like is the heel part that sticks out. It makes your foot look a lot longer which isn’t the worse thing but it’s different for sure and noticeable. I gave this 4 stars but it’s more like a solid 3.8/5 so in fairness I rounded up. Hope my insight helps ... show more
