I was excited to try on these Allbirds Tree Dasher sneakers. I have never worn allbirds before but have heard of them as a quality shoe maker. Ok, these are unique take on the sneaker. They have a soft upper breathable material that looks very nice and is almost sock-like. This shoe has no tongue per say, the upper incorporates this into the top. That at first seems weird to me but the material is so flexible that when you tighten up the laces it kind of doesn't need a tongue. Still, not being there is a little odd. But again, its really not needed in this type of shoe. The sole is quite nice, very soft and comfortable. These shoes are clearly designed for casual comfort. I would not wear these in hard core athletic activities as the support may not be what you would need but for everyday around the house or around the town these are like wearing half slippers/half running shoe. They are kind of in their own category. I tried them with a few different socks; from no socks to heavy boot style socks. The thinner sock seemed to be the best in my opinion. All were do-able but the thin sock gave me the most comfort. You will be surprised with the level of comfort just standing. I have a pair of nike running shoes that have an extreme amount of cushioning in the rear part of the sole, almost like you are walking on a spring/pillow. These are not that extreme but provide plenty of comfort. I love the feel of these and will wear them often. They are easy to get on an off. I would avoid getting the tops wet as the fabric will let water pass thru to your foot. The soles are fine and provide a surprisingly aggressive grip for this type of shoe. Positives: • Very comfortable walking shoe • Soft, breathable with a good grip • Handsome • Easy on and off • Ideal for traveling thru airports Negatives: • No tongue style may feel odd at first. • Not ideal for strenuous athletics • Slightly expensive (but it is well made) Overall, I like this shoe and it is ideal for me as an everyday around the house and ‘hood. It is not a specialty sports shoe, but I definitely have a need for something like this while traveling through airports or driving. I am taking one star off because the simple upper design without a traditional tongue might be unappealing to some. But I think you will get used to it quickly. 4 stars ... show more

These fit true to size. I wear a size 10.5 Nike tennis shoe and I ordered the 10.5 in these Allbirds and they fit great. I've been wearing these for two days (yes I took them off to sleep), and I do not have any discomfort, not even a little. These shoes were instantly comfortable. I think they were instantly comfortable because both the top and bottom materials are very flexible. I have tried them with a few different pairs of socks to see what works best. My lowrise socks worked well and will probably be what I wear them with most often. But I also tried some thicker ankle athletic socks (pictured) and these feel good too. Probably lowrise for walking around and ankle athletic for running/sport. The shoes are very lightweight, you know you are wearing shoes, but they feel like they are barely there, YET, they are nice and secure and my feet feel protected (on the bottoms). The tops of the shoes are very breathable and again, feels like nothing is there, but the top material is flexible and soft, and at the same time your foot feels secure and snug. . . I hope I'm doing a good job of explaining that they feel like a great pair of shoes. If you are guessing on sizing, I would say that if I ordered the 10 instead of the 10.5 I would still have a comfortable fit due to the flexible top. If I ordered the 11 instead of the 10.5 then I think they would feel too big. I think what this means is I would error on the size of (slightly-half size) smaller... if sometimes 10.5's are too big for you. Awesome pair of every day sneakers found in these Tree Dasher 2 Everyday Active Sneakers by Allbirds. They are low profile and make a great companion to scrubs and other uniforms. Perfect pair for low impact workouts and athleisure wear. The best part is that they are designed to be machine washable and are so easy to clean. Just toss in the wash and they look good as new. With routine maintenance, I expect them to outlast other sneakers. There is enough support that they are great for all day wear and still feel great being on your feet for consistent periods of time. Hubby has a bad knee and doesn’t like laces. I speculated that the laces on these Allbirds are not going to be an issue , there are more for adjustability and it turned out to be true. He can now slip them on now without having to tie the shoelaces. As soon as he put them on he said , wow these are tight , he wears a 9.5 and the 9.5 was a bit tight , especially with thick socks, however , after wearing and stretching them out for a few days they now fit him nicely. The insole is nice and supportive, can be removed for washing . Hubby mentioned almost immediately how good his feet feel in these , how they feel like nothing on and how secure he feels wearing them. I like the Allbirds sneaker in the overall look and design. The sneaker feels high quality and has a good look, especially in the black color. Generally the sneaker is comfortable but I was hoping for more comfort based on my neuropathy. While the shoe is comfortable in terms of average user, for my specific needs and neuropathy, the shoe is a bit narrow in the front and that causes some discomfort.
