I couldn't find brown Jeggings, so I bought a tan pair at Walmart. I wanted a lighter brown so a bought tan and brown dye. added the salt and a bit of dawn dish liquid, then used the colorstay and my jeggings came out PERFECTLY, no tie die look, no crazy color bleed. Yes!

  • Great Rit quality!
Color: Fuchsia Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I used this to dye pinecones for use in decorating wreaths. This gave the cones a pale pink tint that couples well with purple and teal. No smell, stands up to rain and weather without running. My daughter used it in tie dying and found it had great functionality, sealed well for great durability of color, and found no stain resistance in the cotton fabric she used. Great value! ... show more

  • Very dark purple
Color: Hyacinth Jacinthe Size: 8-Ounce
I know this product has been around forever , so I purchased because someone got bleach on my LIGHT purple beautiful shabby chic style towel and was livid ! Anyway I didn’t expect this color dye to be such a dark purple, unfortunately it was way too dark but at least the towel looks better without bleach mark . Not sure if I would purchase same brand of fabric dye again though. 4 stars because it worked , but color wise it was just too dark so I will keep and make DIY borax crystals with it … ... show more

  • I Lucked Out! Dress Looks Great!
Color: Hyacinth Jacinthe Size: 8-Ounce
I am attending a wedding this Fall, and was in need of a new dress. I found this great lacey Vince Camuto dress at Nordstrom Rack for a great price - except it only came in Ivory! I bought RIT Dye (the 'normal' version, not the one for 'synthetic' fabrics) in Hyacinth. This Ivory dress is: 40% nylon, 33% cotton, 27% rayon. The lace outer portion is cotton, and the lining is Nude & made with the synthetic materials. My plan was to snip out the lining so that it did not get dyed, but it is one whole piece that is sewn all over, so it would have been nearly impossible to remove it and reattach it, given that the outer lacey portion is so delicate. So I looked at RIT's instructions and mostly disregarded them. Instead of putting this dress into a pot of boiling water on the stove, I threw it into my washing machine. Instead of adding dish soap, I didn't. I did add salt, but it was Epsom salt. I used the 'hot' wash cycle and poured (about) half of the bottle of RIT into the washer. Once the washer was filled with water, I tossed the whole dress in. I stopped the wash cycle, set a timer for 10 minutes, then started the cycle again so the dress could be swished & swirled around. I stopped the cycle again, this time for about 20 minutes. Then I restarted it, and let it finish. I then washed this 'dry clean only' dress on 'gentle' with Cold water, and hung it to dry. The result is perfect: RIT dyed the outside of the dress, but not the lining. The color is just as I was hoping it would be, too! There is some detailing along the collar that didn't 'take' the dye, but that just makes it look a bit fancier. Photos were taken in my basement with no adjustments/filters. ... show more

  • Pinkish orange
Color: Rose Quartz Size: 8 oz
I noticed the liquid was really dark red. I cleaned the item before dyeing it. I followed the directions and even used less then required since the item was small. The dye made the item a pinkish orange. Coverage was uneven and I couldn’t achieve the light pink color I desired.

  • Rebekah dyed a 26 year old backpack
Color: Royal Blue Size: 8 oz
Product arrived sooner than expected. Easy to fallow instructions. Dye came out the perfect shade of blue just like new. After 26 years of use and abuse it was a pale pale light blue. Dye hasn't rubbed off on other items it comes in contact with.

  • Beautiful color
Color: Indigo Size: 8 Fl Oz
I used this to dye combined with a small amount of the denim color as well to makeover some boring jeans and a pair of linen pants. It’s a bit messy, but I did it outside and it worked out great. Product is incredibly durable and the color seals into the fabric beautifully. I’ve used brand before, 3 years ago, and the color is still perfect. Smell doesn’t matter if you do it outside. If you want to makeover your fave clothes, this is your best option. ... show more
