The base lights up Jack’s smile, and when Alexa is listening, the smile glows blue, which is such a fun touch. The light is subtle, not bright or distracting, so it doesn’t interfere with watching TV. Installing the shell over the Echo Dot was very easy. The quality is fantastic, the design is spot-on, and it gets a lot of attention from visitors because it looks so unique. A fun bonus: it arrived in a coffin-shaped box, which is pictured in the listing. Easy, except with cloth dot. I couldn’t get it on straight. I had to settle for crooked. Gave up being able to see timer too. Or time or messages. I don’t think I really thought this through when I got this what all I’d be giving up when I put the shell over the top that wasn’t at least semi-transparent, which might’ve been a really glorious idea. It’s fine I like it. It’s fun.
