I have had my cabinet for three years and am here to buy one for my sister who loved it when she saw it in my extra room. I use this cabinet for rings and earrings. It has 64 drawers that fit a number of rings or earrings and the drawers, while not clear, are see through so I at least know somewhat what I have in them. I have it set up so the rings are on the left side and the earrings (mostly posts and smaller fishooks) are on the right. I further have it so that gold is on the top and silver is on the bottom. I have some mixed metals and things so I have a row for them. This cabinet has held up perfectly for me. The drawers don't pull out and topple over when I pull on them. They have a stopper which is a big relief. I would be dropping all my stuff everywhere otherwise. Each drawer holds a number of items and I can either put similar pieces together or even put a set together so I can just reach in and pull out matching earrings and a ring. I have never had the unit tip over forward or backwards and it is not affixed to anything. It is free standing on a dresser. It's not dainty or pretty but it gets the job done and holds so much that I don't have to have a million little boxes everywhere. This is for my fashion rings and earrings. I have more protective jewelry boxes for higher end things but this is perfect for all those inexpensive rings and stud or small wired earrings I picked up over the years. Love it and have had no issues with it. I don't mind that it has no drawer dividers. I just toss two or three rings in one drawer and pull out the one(s) I want to wear. I am sure there are more industrial uses for this cabinet but it works great for my use and I am going to buy my sister one since she keeps saying how she wishes she had something like it to keep all her fashion stuff in. We're jewlert horders. It's incurable so we need things that can hold a lot without taking up a lot of space. This Akro-Mils 64 Drawer Cabinet works is perfect for that chore. ... show more

I have a touch of OCD, so fastener organizers are a must for me. Currently I have a half dozen or more of these of various vintages. I like that the drawers are durable and work well. They aren’t as clear as some but I am more than willing to sacrifice clarity for durability. I have had drawers break in the past, and finding replacements is impossible. I think what Akro-mills charges is excessive, but since I still buy them, I guess they are priced right. In business, you know your pricing is spot on if people complain about the price but still buy it. ... show more

Well, I removed the entire thing from the box, and immediately dropped it onto the hard floor. Not a chip, scuff, or mark on it. Each drawer is very thick, hard plastic. I MIGHT would rather have each drawer sort of "lock" into place when closed, but there's really no need for that if it's sitting on a flat surface. I love it. I may get one more, and I'd be fairly sure that I have room to put ALL of my little parts, bolts, rubber bands, cat toys, washers, paper clips, you name it... (* One idea to get WITH this is a pack or two of those cheap, small, round, colored stickers. You could also get & use small white labels, to mark what's inside each drawer, with a Sharpie pen, but the the round colored stickers help even more, by denoting "categories." Red stickers could be for screws, blue for bolts, yellow for rubber bands, etc., green for stamps, etc., etc..) Also, maybe not a "beautiful" thing, to put in the den or on your bedroom dresser, but I do think it looks a little better than the older ones, that were so "blocky" and "hardware("y")- looking. This one has a little more rounded corners, a little darker drawers, just overall a tiny bit more modern-looking. You wouldn't mind it in say, a sewing or laundry room - for buttons, sewing needles, that kind of thing, or in a large walk-in closet, also for buttons, or small toiletries like nail clippers, shaver attachments, things like that. Would be good for cat toys (they like to have them changed-up), or for a million different uses. *Warning: ANY child who has a way to get to this can EASILY open each drawer, with no problem. When I was a child, EVERY drawer would have been opened, "inspected," and the most dangerous things (sewing needles? lighters? etc.) would have been what I "borrowed," and played with. My solution to that would be putting those items in a perimeter-drawer, then using a thin strip of gorilla tape to firmly tape the drawer to the container, itself. You'll need to pull half the strip of tape open each time, then reattach afterward, but Gorilla tape is sticky enough to withstand about 100+ times of doing that, without losing it's grip. Fold one end of the tape under, "onto itself," so you'll have a little "unsticky" end to pull on, to open those drawers. Gor. tape is SO strong, little tiny ones would have trouble pulling it off to get into a "locked" drawer. I still, with a small child (or cat) wouldn't put pills or meds in it, that aren't in a container. Way up on top, and at back of a refrigerator, it might be out of small children's reach, and even vision. Speaking of cats, you may want to put some objects on top of this container, or even rolled-over pieces of Gorilla tape, spaced about 6" apart, on top, to deter cats from seeing it as a "new place" to lay. The only reason that this wouldn't be good is because an adult cat COULD knock it over when jumping onto it, causing every drawer to open and spill...unless it fell backwards. But you KNOW that it's going to fall forward, because that's just how things happen. ... show more
