We had this light installed over a new staircase as part of a renovation. One of my motivations was so that my very tall son would not bump his head - the slim, sleek design of this light prevents that from happening. I had ordered a different fixture, which I had to return, as that was exactly what happened. However, we are extremely happy with this light for more reasons than that. It is very solid, being cast aluminum. It uses a standard G9 bulb (I saw a review which said the bulb is not replaceable - that's definitely not true). And it uses a standard household 3-wire connection. This does not mean it comes with a plug! This is meant to be mounted on a junction box by an electrician. Our electrician had no trouble at all installing it. We all think it looks great. The nice thing about its use of a standard G9 bulb is that we do have the option of selecting a dimmable bulb, or a different color temperature than what the manufacturer supplied. It has been in place for about a month now and I expect it will last many years. Please excuse the Zipwall in the photo, our renovations are not yet complete. ... show more

Throws light both up and down without bare bulb or blinding light. Be aware that the kelvin (warm vs cool light) is not adjustable. I ordered warm for my hall and bright white for my staircase and was pleased with both.

I'm so pleased with these lights! I changed out an old sconce light for one of these (far end of my short hall) and then converted the other into a plug-in and hung it at the other end of the hall. The light is perfect for my space. Fixtures are sturdy. No blemishes on mine--they were packed really well. Mounting hardware was great and everything was included. I had no problems installing either lamp. The pic with my hand is to show that these are pretty small; they are exactly what I wanted, but they might be too small for a larger space. I'll update if there are any issues, but so far these are perfect. ... show more

Some others ones cost more but the material is flimsy and can’t even get the job done. Some people are saying they are small but they are true to size in the description (not the pictures). Great product, made from metal and replaceable LED bulbs. Installation was a breeze as it came will all necessary hardware. Installed both in about 20 min.
