I needed to replace four sconce lights in the bedroom and was looking for something totally different. I wanted ones that would dim also. They weren’t too hard to put in once I put the first one in, and I had three more to go, so a total of four lights. I was concerned about the size as it is a large bedroom, but with two on one wall and two on the other, there’s plenty of light. The dimming isn’t the best with these bulbs but they do dim with a bit of a flicker if I dim them too much where as the ones I replaced had regular lightbulbs and I didn’t have a problem with flickering. Actually looks even better in real life. The black frames match the fireplace surround. The way the light projects up and down accents the stacked rock. Installation was very simple. We used this to replace a dated wall sconce and it worked great. The fact that it uses G9 LED bulbs (also available in halogen) mean you can change Lumens and color intensity. Which we did to a softer light. Also, there is enough room in the housing to add a switch. just by drilling a hole in the side. I used a rotary switch so as not to be pushing (or pulling w/chain) on the fixture . Easy job, descent instructions, good quality housing. I have changed out almost every light fixture in our house. This one took a bit for me to do because where I put it and the design. 1. The builder put the light box too close to the door frame for this light to have the lights shine up and down. I ended up putting it sideways and actually like it more! It sends more light down the stairs vs just at the top of the stairs. 2. Lining up the tiny screws with the wall bracket took a bit. Happy overall. Looks much better then just the basic light bulb socket the builder put there with an exposed lightbulb. My son says out of all the fixtures I updated he likes the look of this one. That being said this is the only wall fixture we have; not including bathroom lights. ... show more

We had this light installed over a new staircase as part of a renovation. One of my motivations was so that my very tall son would not bump his head - the slim, sleek design of this light prevents that from happening. I had ordered a different fixture, which I had to return, as that was exactly what happened. However, we are extremely happy with this light for more reasons than that. It is very solid, being cast aluminum. It uses a standard G9 bulb (I saw a review which said the bulb is not replaceable - that's definitely not true). And it uses a standard household 3-wire connection. This does not mean it comes with a plug! This is meant to be mounted on a junction box by an electrician. Our electrician had no trouble at all installing it. We all think it looks great. The nice thing about its use of a standard G9 bulb is that we do have the option of selecting a dimmable bulb, or a different color temperature than what the manufacturer supplied. It has been in place for about a month now and I expect it will last many years. Please excuse the Zipwall in the photo, our renovations are not yet complete. ... show more
