    • Well equipped Kit for a first violin

As my review mentioned - the bridge to our violin was loose. We were not sure what to do with it, so we tried our best to tighten down and tune the violin (hold the bridge in place, while we tightened the strings down). We were able to tune the violin, but if we jostle it, it will quickly loose tune. We aren't really sure how to fix this, should we just super glue, wood glue? Not sure what to do. I was totally excited to get this kit - everything else to phenomenal - a beginners violin kit with everything you need, a stand, a tuner, a violin. Man... but the bridge .... I was so disappointed.... The instrument is really nice - but if the bridge is loose, it's like getting a car without a gas pedal.... ****Update**** 12 September 20204 Seller reached out to me - Provided me with direction - in the instructions - it does provide guidance on the bridge becoming knocked out of place - and how to put it back into place - so my big issue with the violin was actually addressed in the instructions - that's on me. Since my daughter played violin for a few years we actually did know what we were doing when we set this instrument up - that's we didn't look at the instructions, but that's also my arrogance and pride showing it's ugly head by not looking at the instructions. It's ok if the bridge comes loose, it's not glued down on purpose. ... show more

My husband plays the fiddle and checked this one out. It is made of high quality materials, and has a good sound. It is perfect for beginners and is a good choice for a violin beginner. This one is a good value for the money and is definitely a good value. This is highly recommended.

I'm not sure what's going on, but while aspects of this violin appear to be new, some parts also appeared to be used. The bow had several broken strings already. The rosin was new though. The box it came in had tape that had been cut and new tape was over it. Components are missing, too. I didn't have a fingerboard sticker or extra strings in my case. I've looked through everything three times and they're not there. The violin doesn't feel sturdy or designed to last. Parts were already falling off and had to be tightened. The tuner is poor quality. The case, however, is durable and seems to be high quality. As for the price, I'm disappointed. I didn't expect a Stradivarius, but I expected better than what arrived. ... show more

I received and am reviewing Aileen 4/4 Full size Violin Set, Solid Violin Outfit for Beginners with Hard Case, D'Addario Prelude Strings, Digital Chromatic Tuner Metronome, Fretboard sticker, Bow, Rosin and All Ebony Fittings We have several guitars in the household. This is the first violin. I am amazed at the quality and value of this violin. It is lightweight and feels like a true, quality, instrument. The construction quality and finishes are exceptional for the price and the tone is very good. The included extras alone seem worth the price. The trapeziodal-shaped outer box included the violin, bow, rosin, zippered case with straps, a tuner/metronome with batteries and a clip-on mic, fretboard stickers and user guides for the violin and tuner. (See pics) No set up was required. The violin came out of the case with strings installed and ready to tune. The bow needed only to be tightened and rosined. The only installation necessary was to insert the batteries into the tuner. The included case has felt lining and a velvet cover for the violin,. It has a storage box inside and a pocket on the top where the tuner fits with room for other accessories. (See pics) The included and pre-installed D’Addario strings are excellent quality. The wood, construction and finish are nearly flawless. Compared to the weight of guitars, this violin is as light as air. I can not confirm if the woods used are spruce, maple and ebony, though they all look high end and I have no doubts about them. This is an excellent value for anyone learning to play violin or to add a violin to their collection of instruments.     • Very nice student or beginner instrument
This is a very nice, full-size violin with all the required accessories, including a case. I played violin a bit in school and it has been a blast getting to play again!!! I recommend on doing some online, free violin lessons if you are a newbie. This instrument is obviously not an advanced player instrument - but if you are a new student to playing, young or old - this is a wonderful package to trial on. I was surprised that it came with the electronic tuner - and the violin did need to be tuned. Be sure to watch a video on how to properly tighten strings on a violin, there is a special way of doing it, as violin tuning keys are new tightened by screws, but rather by the proper method of winding. Also the bow has to be properly rosined, which means you have to cut slits into the rosin first and rosin it for at least 10-15 minutes. You also have to properly tighten the horsehair on the bow to the proper measurement as well. Once I completed all the setup, this has a beautiful sound and I was surprised I could pick it up and play a few scales after being so long since I played. ... show more
